At least you tried, there was nothing else you could do and you never know he might just find a home. There are a number of rescues that look out for dogs that are to be pts.

I certainly hope so. The scumbag girlfriend now says the dog snapped at her only when she was kicking him:mad:! If that's the extent of him being "snappy" he's possibly quite a nice dog after all so as the dog warden will have no knowledge of his temperament he may come through his assessment reasonably well.

I know even that is still no guarantee he won't be PTS but it's a glimmer of hope.

This dog belongs to your friend's son? I'm assuming there's nothing your friend is able to do to help?

There may be hope still, I was involved yesterday with taking a staffie over 300 miles from a destruct pound ( her time was up yesterday) to a non-destruct pound, there are charities that will try, but and it's a big but, there are too many dogs for each place, so they have to be in with a good chance of being re-homed. She is 4- 5 and has scarring to her face and a little to her body. Lovely sweet dog though, with a supremely waggy tail and complete trust that the humans were doing the right thing.

A staffie I took down about two months ago to Dogs Trust was reserved the following day - he was absolutely gorgeous, loveable, friendly dog.

No there isn't. She's disabled and unable to care for a dog.

Proves yet again that it is not just the human victims of a crime that suffer.Animals do too,but only,in this case, because of the cruelty of it's owners.

Is there any way you will get to find out what happens to this poor dog,Zak's mum?

Good on you for trying so hard.

I know which dog's home it will go to. I'll check them. I could just say a friend told me about a dog she'd found and I was wondering what was happening with it.:(

zaksmum - I know I said my last post was 'last ditch' but I have thought of another avenue - could you get a local paper/tv station to do a 'human interest' story on 'offenders dogs/cats' and persuade them to use this poor dog as their 'example'? when this is highlighted in the press they usually get loads of offers of rehoming!

otherwise - I am out of ideas! this poor dog doesn't deserve this! I could weep!

The dog went last night with the dog warden so too late now to do anything.

And presumably the consent of the dog's ex owner would be needed to do a story and this bunch couldn't care less.

There's a couple of staffy rescues that save poundies and death row dogs so there's still hope that he'll be rescued.

We talked to a couple of these groups and even though we didn't get our mutt from them, I still contribute money to save them and I know they take dogs from all over the UK.

If you let me know the name, I'll look out for him on their facebook page.
