  • I signed up for CasualHookups after my divorce in 2014. I had several dates from the site, and a 7 month relationship. But I was just about done with online dating, when he messaged me. I honestly thought he seemed like TOO nice of a guy for me. We joined each other’s Facebook and communicated that way. It took me a couple months before I said yes to a date. And it was the best decision of my life. After being in a rough marriage for so many years, this was such a welcomed change. Things blossomed fast. We moved in together for a year and just got married this past April. My children adore him and he feels the same about them. This was the best thing that could of happened to me. AND him. ;) So, online dating is NOT all that bad. Just have to keep an open mind and just have fun.

OMG. :rotfl: Not in a nasty way but at the funny stuff.

I have enjoyed reading this thread....in a nice way.

It’s never been an avenue I wanted to take, and from here still don’t for now. The times I have been single hasn’t been dive in for another bloke, and at times that is how it seems on both parts from friends info for these sites. Maybe the friends I have and what they do admittedly.

I guess long term on my own I would give it a go maybe, maybe.
An interesting thread to read though probably about to be single again.
Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.

on a £100 shop you might on average get 70 items save
    10p per product = £7 a week ~ £28 a month
    20p per product = £14 a week ~ £56 a month
30p per product = £21 a week ~ £84 a month (or in other words one weeks shoping at the new price)

I am on a site and have chatted to some interesting guys. However, despite chatting only 2 have asked me on a date!! I don't know why men are so reluctant to meet up. You can tell so much more by actually meeting someone and if you think you aren't a match then you haven't wasted too much time.

Anyway, it has been a laugh and a bit of an education. My advice is: don't take it too seriously. Ask plenty of questions and speak to the person on the phone for a while before you meet. Beware of scammers, they are quite easy to spot and follow a particular pattern and language. Don't get too upset if the person you message doesn't reply, they are possibly rude and discourteous and not worth your time. Arrange the first date in a place where there are people around and let someone know where you are going.

All the best to everyone
  • Can anyone recommend a good dating site for Seniors ?

I’d be interested to know the answer to this too. 50plus recommended sites anyone?
