    Mine are so spoilt I don't know what to get them. They have treats constantly (I tend to homemake liver treats or peanut ones for the dog) and my dog has a toy basket bigger than most kids. She isn't the type of dog that rips things apart either so they just gotta more and more over the years.

    They tend to have chicken anyway (dogs on raw) so christmas dinner isn't a big deal. Maybe I will get some dog gravy and allow a couple pigs in blankets haha.

    Am trying to find some natural dog treats (like them to be high meat content and low in cereal). All the ones recommended to me she hasn't liked. Like the likes of pizzle sticks and dog bones or any dog treats. She likes schmackos but thats about it. She is only little so can't really eat big treats like.

    Can anyone recommend anything? Tried fish4dogs and she hated them haha. Was thinking maybe James Wellbeloved crackerjackers or whatever they called.

    Or anyone have a nice dog friendly recipe for a christmas snack or treat?

    Applaws do a range of 100% natural meat and fish treats for dogs and cats. I saw some for sale in What!s just last week. you can also buy them online.
  • My 4 boys are getting new beds and probably a new bone each. My little cat will also be getting a new bed. They always get a Christmas dinner as well on the day! Not sure why I bother getting 4 beds, they are currently all squashed on the one bed which is quite a feat for 4 large boxer dogs! I even caught my eldest by trying to fit into our cats bed, he kept circling round and round and did manage to curl up small enough to fit in it! :rotfl:

    Oh yeah i've had them my local Home Bargains where selling them cheap few months back say about 19p a pack. They sold out very quick and never returned. My two went crazy for them but they quite expensive. Its much cheaper to just buy chicken or liver yourself to give as snacks.

    I must be a bad owner; they get they same love and care as they get every other day, with a routine that they know and are comfortable with.

    :o

    I agree with you. Animals have no idea what day it is or what it is all about. Keep them safe and sound and don't let anyone mess about with them.

    I have four rabbits and two guinea pigs.

    I have just ordered them some lovely homemade treats that should hopefully last them way into the new year. Will also be getting them lots of chew toys. They never last long as they love them.

    My rabbits have a left over veggie christmas dinner. Which they normally get on a Sunday anyway so not anything special to them.

    Logan got his winter coat early, will also get him a new stag bar and some treats and a plush type dog toy.

    Frankie - some cat dreamies and some straws ( yep, they are his fave toys and cost about £1 for 100) maybe a toy on string type thing too.
  • One year, we had a friend with her black lab stay for Christmas- I bought Rocky and visiting dog a rawhide chew and wrapped them in paper- It made me laugh!

    I don't usually buy mine anything for Christmas and this year he has had a new knee and two new memory foam beds since the summer already, on top of all the treats etc!

    he loves kongs, and if I buy him anything, it might be one of the new Kong Wobbler toys, because I think he would get hours of fun out of that.

    My daughter has a budget of £5 for 2 cats. She has the run of the pet shop and craft shop next door and has to create 2 filled stocking for the cats on that and whatever we have around the house.

    The hamster will probably get a sprout.

    treats wise, not particularly for Christmas, would love some suggestions for my five month old cocker spaniel, healthy ones. we use smackos for training but am not sure how good they are, the treats side of things worries me a bit. We use Applaws dried dog food which is one of best and don't want to be undoing the good work. She needs things too that she can chew for ages and am not sure about stag bars which some people use, they seem so hard.
  • Our dog is usually more interested in all the wrapping paper than the things inside, but he will be getting presents anyway seeing that he's spoiled.

    We try to get him things he needs as well as a few fun things. He's only 15 months so this one is his second Christmas.

    We haven't even started any Christmas shopping yet though so this is just a rough list for now.

    * A dog guard for our car
    * Another black extreme Kong - he has one and he's obsessed with it but I want a spare as his last one went in the sea and sank really fast he wasn't impressed. He already has the floating Kong.
    * Pigs ears which he loves
    * New collar and lead
    * Some other new toy

    This is just my rough list though and might get added yet.
