Friends Lego is great fun
As are Sticky Mosaics
A Micro scooter
A bike
Trampoline for the garden0 -
His own body-weight in Lego? You're talking £50-£100 for even a modest sized set...
But I can second the Nerf guns - make sure you get plenty of extra pellets though because they *will* go astray. And try out the loading mechanism first because some of them will be too stiff for a younger boy to manage without help.
I thought the trying Nerf guns out bit was what we kept dads around for? I'm trying to persuade hubby that our toddler does NOT need a nerf gun and lego death star at present.... oh and a PS4 apparently.Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0 -
The designafriend dolls at Argos are lovely if she is into dolls.0

My daughter was very girly from a young age, much to my delight, but we also bought her toys that weren't gender specific, the big wooden farm and animals, a wooden trainset, a scaletrix, ,legos etc.
She's 7 now and went through lots of phases, princessess and dressing up, barbies, most recently monster high, which thankfully she still does play with now and then, but its more minecraft these days, and my little pony - her wearing dresses everyday has gradually been replaced with different colours/styles of leggings, studded boots funky tops and denim shorts - I think its really great to see her personality blooming, and her trying new styles and things to find her identity.
Anyhoo this year xmas is easy, shes getting the my little pony playsets, also going to get her some science sets, magic trick sets, new just dance game for the wii and a few other bits and bobs no doubt. She did ask for an Xbox but she has a Wii so no, and it's too expensive once you factor in all the bits for it also. She also wants gerbils but I told her if she still wants those then we can decide in April, for her birthday, she has been nagging already for 6months so if she maintains it, then she can get some.
I would also suggest the art easel, I got my daughters one from the ELC when she was about 5 and she still plays with it, it folds flat, got a whiteboard side and a blackboard, it's really nice.0 -

Or, Nerf weaponry all round. And lots of spare ammo. Nerf wars are fun... (Though the "target acquired" snap with a round down the cleavage posted on facebook is a rite of passage you may wish to avoid.)
I'd LOVE to kit [STRIKE]me and LF[/STRIKE] the lovely lad (and lass) out with foam projectile weaponry.
But I have to bear in mind [strike]keep my head down from[/strike] the ex wife's opinions upon weaponised toys.
Howeer, that doesn't stop me from instigating science projects on weekends - such as the Mentos/Coke rocket and custard powder IEDs. All strictly educational, you'll understand....I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
My daughter (5) has asked for a 'feed me doll' from Wilkinsons (£12) a changing bag/mat for the dolls, and some accessories etc. So I'm getting her a packet of nappies for the doll, and a bottle set for the doll too. That will be her main bits. She did want a new pram for the doll she wants but she saw one in the charity shop so she had that one, so she doesn't need a new pram anymore. Got her some new p.j's, a new thermal t-shirt, a new pair of Peppa Pig slipper socks, and some other bits, quite a few bits already that I can't remember. Does she like board games? As stocking fillers? New DVD's etc.
I'm doing DD a Xmas box (Xmas DVD in it, some chocs, a Xmas activity book) and some other bits.Feb NSD's 2/10 under my belt.
