"What are you buying your daughter for xmas?"
Nothing.
Life is waaaaaaaaaaay simpler this way!Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0 -
if she likes Power Rangers, why not get her a power ranger costume and some toys?
Even if you get the pink Power Ranger costumes, that's still pretty tomboyish0 -

I used to buy my children sets of paints and the containers for water that don't spill. You can use any thick paper and cover the table with newspaper. My children used to absolutely love a painting session with me or is that a bit :eek:The forest would be very silent if no birds sang except for the birds that sang the best0

An attitude changer...I hope..It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.0 -
My DD was slightly older (7) when she became interested in the small paysets, starting with littlest pet shop, then briefly my little pony and finally moshlings. She played with them, wove stories around them and put them in her previously unplayed with play castle for their home.
The makers of Monster High have a new range of dolls out called Ever After High

I've got DD a onesie recently. It's in the shape of a wolf- bought to double up for a part she is in at her drama class but also counting as a xmas present of pjs. I had to order hers off ebay cos shop didn't have her size but Primark had loads of diff animals. She'd also like some stompeez slippers

When younger I also used to find my boy easier to buy for than my girl, but then son hit Secondary school age.......0 -
Orchard toys do lovely board games that are just right for this age. My DDs (4 and 7) love to play them with or without me.
My girls LOVE My Little Pony and are having a palace playset each. My little one is also having one of those styling head things as she's the girlie one.
what about some wooden cakes on a stand or other more unusal play food for her kitchen? Or a play coffee machine or food mixer.
Or more playmobil so she could combine it in imaginative play, there are some amazing sets.
I agree these are fab, and they do some great jigsaws. Which is something you can do together. My DD is younger but very girly, I have got her a dolls house for her Cinderella and Snow White "princesses", some books and craft bits, a jigsaw set and a few other bits like a cute hat and some treats.
She likes us to read together, to do baking, look after her "babies" and she enjoys setting up cafe with her toy kitchen and a tablecloth on the little table.
You can get little post office play sets, and even a sweetshop - Argos had these at 2 for £15 recently...

Last xmas I said all parents who bought their kids tablets had more money than sense. Then I bought them one and it was the best thing I have ever bought them.
In my defence my initial comment was based on parents blowing £400 on Ipads, and since then tablets have dropped down massively in price. We picked up a £30 chinese tablet which survived with 3 kids under 6 for 6 months.
Have recently replaced it with a Hudl (bought with clubcard points and its great). Its got Cbbebies games, they can watch films in the car on long journeys, keeps them occupied at doctors or dentists, and while not cheap the hours used per pound spent is higher than any other toy or gift they have ever had in the house.
For me hours used per pound spent is the key ratio for any toy.0 -
I don't want to buy her a tablet because I think she'll probably be inheriting my Kindle Fire soon (I'm hoping that Santa will bring me an iPad Mini Retina
)
I've been looking at the Lalaloopsy dolls, which look bright and colourful, and also the Monster High. I'm not a fan of the super-realistic dolls - in particular ones that wee and cry etc - because I think they're just a bit weird and creepy.
And does anybody here actually have a Furby? They look good fun but are very expensive - nearly £50 seems a lot for effectively an interactive doll....0 -
And here is the little angel, slumbering in-front of Despicable Me after a hard day at school:0
