Why are you asking complete strangers what your own child would like?
Why don't you spend some time with her and the Argos catalogue or at Toys R us and find out what she likes.
the only problem with that is that they'll find half a dozen things on every page in the pink plastic toy pages of the Argos book (or the pink plastic aisles of Toys r us) that they really really really want :rotfl: so you might end up none the wiser!0 -
As five year old she had lots of books, things to make, my little ponies, cup cake dolls (vile) and a bike.
At 25 ...we have bought her some boots , an electric toothbrush, some trendy towels and are thinking of this as her main present: http://www.johnlewis.com/ted-baker-ruye-faux-fur-trimmed-parka-coat/p618000?navAction=jump0 -

A £230 coat as her 'main' present, plus others?
Does she want an adopted 29 year old sister at all?0 -

OK girls but you have to put up with me the other 364 days too.
We would have liked more children.0 -

If I ask her what she wants she'll say "everything". She wants everything with a tv advert, and when we went down the toy aisle in Tesco today she picked everything up off the shelf that was pink and said she wanted it. With one thing I asked her what it was and she said "I don't know, but I want it".
I personally don't like dolls and I didn't buy her one until she specifically asked for one, and I was told by the nursery staff that she always chose to play with them. For this Christmas I'm considering the Lalaloopsy dolls which are very brightly coloured and don't look like those weird fake babies that most dolls look like. I also much prefer Monster High to Barbie but that's because I'm a closet goth.0 -
The power of advertising, my daughter saw an advert for baby born and said, I want that doll. I looked at her and said, exactly what would you do with it (she never touches a doll, she doesn't have a maternal bone in her tomboy body
) she said, I don't know, it can watch me play with spiderman.

My daughter has always loved dressing up but never really the conventional princess, she has a full body crocodile suit, fox, lion, monkey, bumble bee, gingerbread man and more that I have forgotten, she loves wearing them and so do her friends when they come to play, because they have nothing like that themselves. Whereas most kids will change after school into their own clothes, my daughter will put on a costume and wear that until bedtime. Buying her a Power Rangers dress up costume is a fab idea.
Build-a-bear has been another favourite, dd has never liked baby dolls but we've spent a small fortune on stuffed bears. We're about to ebay a huge lot as thankfully there is a resale value on them.0 -
They are both getting roller boots.0
