We used to do it one or two weekends before Christmas day. But it has slowly crept back to the 1st of December. So I'm hoping for that date again, especially as the 1st is a Sunday this year.
Less than a month to go!

Vary when we put it up due to events but usually early December. We're first in family to put it up. I do take ours down by the 4th jan at latest as it is dd2s birthday early jan and I like her to know she is not just an add on to Xmas!Don’t put it down - put it away!

We usually put it up Dec 1st and take it down Jan 2nd, we love a full month of it. I did spend the entirety of half term (I'm a teacher) watching Christmas films and wrapping Christmas present though, so I feel very festive already! Love that some people put it up already though, hehee!
Great thread.

We always put it up Thanksgiving weekend (so this year, the 30th of November), as that's when we always put it up growing up in the states. We put it up then as that's when older siblings were home for the Thanksgiving holiday from University, so the whole family could participate. It's just become a family tradition.
Usually comes down 2nd January.MSE mum of DS(7), and DS(4) (and 2 adult DCs as well!)DFW Long haul supporters No 210:snow_grin Christmas 2013 is coming soon!!! :xmastree:0
