When I gave DD Daisy as a middle name, there was no negative reaction at all, everyone (told me) they liked it, except one of my friends who was the only one who made the cow connection. I hadn't thought of it until then. She's got a cheek though, her DD has got the same name as a Blue Peter dog (and before you say it, not Shep!!)
JxAnd it looks like we made it once again
Yes it looks like we made it to the end0 -
I quite like the name Daisy. I had Mary Quants fashion doll 'Daisy' when I was a girl. Definitely the best of the three. Really hope the OP doesn't choose Roma as very negative connotations especially at the moment with the new immigrants coming in from Romania. I can also imagine an A being added to the beginning of it.:j Trytryagain FLYLADY - SAYE £700 each month Premium Bonds £713 Mortgage Was £100,000@20/6/08 now zilch 21/4/15:beer: WTL - 52 (I'll do it 4 MUM)0

My Grandma (Lancashire born and bred) was called Roma - I've never heard of it used elsewhere though, and I think it's relatively recently that it's been widely associated with gypsies. Shame!

My DD sulks that she wasn't called Daisy, as you can find loads of personalised items with that name on and barely any with hers.:D
DS was having problems with his long/short name in lessons the other day. He asked his History teacher to call him by the short version of which he is known. She refused and continues to call him by the long version that is in the register. When he drops this subject at the end of this year and states this as a reason why, I shall forever fetch it up when discussions like this start in the future..you have been warned. :rotfl:0 -
Hi Guys,
Thanks for all your replies, it was nice to get your opinions which provided interested reading.
We decided to go for DAISY GRACE WRIGHT.
She is nearly 3 weeks old and is soo cute.
We swayed to this name as both our two young boys have spoken about Daisy ever since they knew their mom was having a baby
Better go and do the 12am feed :rotfl:
Many Thanks

That's lovely - thanks for coming back to let us know!:)
p.s. as a matter of interest: were you influenced at all by the comments made on this thread?[0 -
Also, I have to ask, how were you referring to the baby for 3 whole weeks while she didn't have a name!0

How lovely for you to have a little girl after two boys.
Did your boys pick Daisy because of the book ' Come on Daisy'. That book was a favourite of one of my son's.
Daisy Grace goes well together.:j Trytryagain FLYLADY - SAYE £700 each month Premium Bonds £713 Mortgage Was £100,000@20/6/08 now zilch 21/4/15:beer: WTL - 52 (I'll do it 4 MUM)0
