Would be happy with 50% plus HD. Cancelled and Sky ends on 28th Nov, is there any point in ringing them up and asking about any other deals - was offered the 35%/£47 when I cancelled? Am worried they might not ring as for some reason there's no tick next to 'phone' in the marketing choices on 'My Sky' account. I can't recall changing it and they phoned me last year when I'd cancelled and they offered 50% & HD - will it matter?0 -
when we first left, nothing but come back to us mailDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

What do you reckon ? is is worth holding out further or is this as good as I'm going to get ?
Hold out and keep saying 'no'. I rang to cancel last week and after 3 of their 'very best' deals the 4th I was given was far too good to miss. And after they screwed up, it ended up even better!![STRIKE]2[/STRIKE] 1 CCJs clear [STRIKE]November 2012[/STRIKE] / April 2014 :A
DMP with StepChange as of 22/10/2013 owing £10984
Debt free by 2020 hopefully :j0 -
Who is your broadband provider?
Because if it is BT you can get BT sport through your sky box for free (although won't be able to record). It's OK, has some footy and rugby and a few other bits and bobs.0 -

Let it lapse if you can live without it and then you get all the best deals. We are just coming to the end of 11 months totally free for everything. 4 months at a time and they rolled it over twice. We are currently cancelling again because their offers to stay are nothing like I want to pay. They will be though, but never ever ring them, always wait for Sky to ring you.0 -

Am concerned that they won't ring though, as on 'My Sky' account it has no tick in the box opposite contact by phone and as the account is closed it can't be changed.0 -

Indeed. But I don't recall saying don't phone at any time because last years deal came about when I cancelled and they rang me a couple of weeks after, but before Sky had stopped...0 -
Freetime (on Freesat) or YouView (on Freeview) from either BT or TalkTalk would definitely be an option, dependent on your BB circumstances. And YouView from TalkTalk offers Sky Sports too, and only on a mth to mth contract to boot.
Who are you with and whats your line speed urbanlegend11?0 -

Ah I see what you mean, my account is the same as it goes off next week but I still have my ticks.
It's a tricky one then, people who ring are normally just thought of as the "blaggers" and you won't see the best deals.
My mother in law cancelled, they rang to offer it free like ours, but thinking it was a scam she said no. When I told her she should have bitten their hand off there and then she tried to ring up and get it again (a day after they had rung) and nobody would remotely entertain it at sky. She did since get it free but again they rang her. 6 month totally free at that, but she was off for nearly 6 months at this point.
Like I said you get good deals but you must leave. Not sure how their contact rules apply when you have left though? Do they still have to follow your preferences as technically you are no longer a customer?0
