I just posted the info because I felt that we all should know that we were under discussion.

I'm a nasty, argumentative piece of work according to her in the message she posted to me and basically shouldn't have an opinion.

Ah, well at least I'm not a huge hypocrite. I know I'm a bad tempered menopausal woman with a weakness for cosmetics and stuff. All I ever did was point out that in old posts was she happily accepted a load of stuff from one of her friend's stashes and used it.

ZOMG you held a mirror up to someone and they didn't like it. All your fault I'm sure :A

Well said everyone!! I too am miffed about that post, as someone else said, it has made me question about sharing things on a public forum. I have always found this thread to be massively supportive and friendly. Had never thought that someone might look at this and then write a judgemental post on it, inviting others to look and mock.
  • OK, return to scheduled stuff:

    UU:

Satsuma Body Polish 75ml. I don't have to buy again because my kids will always get me a Satsuma gift box from the Body Shop every Christmas.

Olay Silk Whimsy body lotion with rose extract and almond oil 250ml. Very nice, not an overpowering scent. I don't know if I'd buy it again. I'm kind of fickle.

Clynol Look at Me Gleam. Conditioner for coloured hair 150 ml. I really liked this one. Unfortunately I bought it at Winners (TK Maxx). I'll probably never see it again. It's made in Germany so there may be a chance of getting a bottle on my holidays next year.

Sally Hansen Maximum Strength Polish Remover 340ml. Replaced with the last one from the stash. It goes on sale a lot so I don't have to worry about it.

No ins so far. We are having a collection at the ladies gym for our local Women In Need shelter and they are asking for sample sized products. I will be taking in a container full.

I off loaded a nearly used bottle of hair detangler to one of my sons this morning. His hair is longer than mine (and his is beautiful) and he's realized that conditioner alone won't work.

Just remember we are good people on this thread and have nothing to be ashamed of.
  • At least we don't have to worry about running out of deodrant girls! Speaking of which, just UU and onto my last and none in the £1 shop at moment, eek same with the shampoo, I don't want to buy full price damn it. Its partly because we are always getting the best offers and not paying full price that we have a stash at all.:money:

UU Rituals white lotus and yiyi ren body mist, WBA but don't need it :A
    UU Right Guard Xtreme Dry
    GA Rock Soap

Debt free and busy treating myself:)

No more toiletries/make up until I've used what I've got stashed since Jan 2011, graduated October 2012. Restocked Dec 13..damn those sales
  • i forgot to declare my IN amongst all the hoo ha, Orly nail polish from Cosmo.

sorry but I disagree kadison, living in the countryside I see first hand the devastation caused by a fox, for example - chickens killed, lambs with their intestines ripped out, lambs being born and the fox eating them ...I could go on. :( Nature is very cruel, especially the fox

I live in the countryside too and grew up on a farm, yes fox are vermin in some ways but wearing fur isn't nature, any animal in the wild does what it needs to to survive, humans and all animals kill other animals for food, we're the only ones who apparently think it's acceptable to kill an animal purely to be used as a fashion accessory!

.....aaaaaaaanyway, sorry for deviating from the topic so much!

I am back from Boots shopping event and I'm pleased to say I didn't buy a thing! I went in for some body scrubs, but they were being so stingy, no drinks or biccies as in previous years, no staff to be found and no prize draw leaflets left.

I gave it about 10 minutes, wandering around and finding out they were out of stock of 2 of the scrubs I'd most wanted. Still no staff around and no drinks, prize leaflets or biccies, so I decided I could no longer be bothered....and left empty-handed! :o

Went to Tesco instead as someone had mentioned a free scrub with Marie-Claire, and some other things I 'need' were on offer so I have some INs....

Olay Daily Facials Express (20) x 2 (in clearance at only 74p each :D)
Calcot Manor Gentle Salt Scrub 350ml (Half Price)
Along Came Betty One Pot of Polish 300ml (Third off)
Rituals Fortune Scrub 150ml (Free with MC)

Looking forward to trying some new stuff :T

Ours is on tomorrow night, I went to the last one and spent the required amount on presents but still have some left. So far I've been good at buying presents only, but there may be a 'spare' present that comes to me.
Does anyone else do that, buy a spare present in case they forgot someone?

what we don't need is to be lectured at and judged by complete strangers who know nothing about any of us, our personal circumstances and why we started buying toiletries. its not like we all suddenly woke up one day with a house like a Boots stockroom. something will have happened in each of our lives thats kicked it off and then fed it.

I don't know why any of us need to justify ourselves tbh, it's not as if we're doing anything illegal or morally wrong, as habits go, toiletries is one of the very innocent ones! Plus we're all here to get help with our habits, and try to control our (in some cases, mine for one) automatic shopping for these items.
I'm really upset by this. I am assuming her little snark about someone having nearly 400 items is aimed at me, as it's right there in my signature for all to see. Not to be all 'farewell cruel world' about it, but after a bad day at work, run ragged and exhausted, it's really upset me to see a spotlight shone on me, and a holier than thou sniggering from someone who frankly, doesn't have squat to do with this place.

It might not be you as I think we have quite a few 400+ members, and even if it is so what! Who are you harming??

What she said! :D Have you looked at my signature?

When all is said and done, everyone has their own maintenance level, mine is about medium I would say, then there are those who spend hours doing their make-up/hair, buffing and moisturising to within an inch of their lives, and the peeps on the other end of the spectrum, who buy one big bottle of bath gel and use it for everything. Each to their own :)
