£224.78 this month as well, gonna have to make a real effort next month to squeeze that extra 1p from them :p

Have you found that they do give precisely 4% on the total spent in the month? I've had only one statement but it was a penny short of the strict 4% of whole pound total spend. (One penny cannot be accounted for by any individual spend not being eligible.)

Just to confirm that I applied for the card using the link given a couple of pages back and cashback IS showing up in the account.

So don't listen to the naysayers in this thread and go ahead and apply!

My parents applied for a Luma card each and even though it says the cashback is due to be paid annually on my dad's account, like it should, he's been paid the first month's cashback so he's now £9 in credit. Has this happened to anyone else?
  • I think the "annual" cashback payment is made on the first statement of the year, not the anniversary month.

It's paid on the January statement.

The cashback will be based on the MCC of the outlet so as long as they come up as 5411,5541 and 5542 then cashback should be applied to all purchases. Sub shops and concessions within a main shop will likely have their own MCC applicable to what they are selling. You will not get cashback in Aldi as they are not "grocery stores, supermarkets" but use 5399 "Misc. General Merchandise". There are many threads on here where posters tell of their cashback being applied to the whole spend in a petrol station including the wine, cigs, sweeties and newspaper because of the 5541 MCC "Service Stations ( with or without ancillary services)". Do metros etc use a different MCC, 5499 maybe, "Misc. Food Stores – Convenience Stores and Specialty Markets" ? Tesco Direct, as mentioned for no cashback in their text, use 5999 "Miscellaneous and Specialty Retail Stores".

Thanks, I learnt a lot from this post!

Also neither Aldi or Lidl accept credit cards (in England anyway!)
  • Thanks billbennett and dotdash79 - I'll pass the information on.

Not necessarily. It depends on the ts & cs you agreed to at the time of application. A quick look at their f.a.qs reveals -

"Some of our cards pay cashback on the anniversary of the opening date, whilst others pay cashback at the start of the calendar year. Please refer to your terms and conditions for your card information"

Mine is annually on the anniversary of opening.
  • Whoo Hoo, that was a lovely surprise, £18 credit in January :)
