How terrible not to hear from your cake maker for 3 months! Did they get in contact quite quickly when you said to cancel the order?Currently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck

Cakemaker - Yep, no contact at all. They still haven't got into contact.
It's so hard sometimes to judge character - I met her at her house, and spoke with her and yet she still let me down. Not sure what's going on to be honest, but all put behind me now with new baker. Onwards and Upwards!

Yes, am having Hen Night. This will be in March and basically just a big night out on the town. Looking forward to just letting my hair down, and maybe a few  ! :rotfl:

Not much to organise now - just got to do a few decorations, and sort out a hotel stay for afters, but otherwise nothing else to organise until the week before. :j :j :j :j
Still need to pay all the suppliers during Feb and March though :eek

Picked up cheque from the inlaws which was handy. We are using the money to fund a few 'extras' in agreement with them and so they know what they will be spent on so they can let people know on the day. It is a nice way to let them have a bit of 'ownership' and tell to their friends, rather than spending on honeymoon 'miscellaneous' . Not sure that makes sense, but they wanted to contribute and we wanted them to pay for something tangible as it were.

Ran a few errands at the weekend so another busy one. Never seems to stop!
The terrible weather has now caused an unknown leak downstairs in our side-building which is dripping into the kitchen. Are investigating over the next week to see if it continues, and then will call in a builder/handyman to assess the situation. Seems to just be the sheer amount of rain, but we shall see.

Had dinner at relatives last night, and the night before we had Spanish Omelette.
Not a lot in the fridge at the moment so really on an odds and ends use up till Feb 21st. So meals are a bit repetitive, but glad we are slowly making a dent in the freezer.
Looking forward to my lamb shanks tonight - yummy.

OH is finally properly recovering from his surgery and the pain has all but gone, which is fantastic news and such a relief.

No money news... (hmmm, maybe I'm on the wrong board!)
Will have to post and run, but will have a read of the diaries tomorrow when I can carve out a bit of time.M3 Dec2015 #160 Target £150,000 (BU £155000)0 -

Not as much as I would like(!) Probably only every couple of months? (Hence why I don't have much experience using their fresh stuff). We're reliant on the inlaws giving us a lift (we don't have a car so can't cart stuff back otherwise). Usually we go week nights, but apparently we're missing a trick as we went at the weekend the last couple of times and they were doing all sorts of taste testing. I managed to get tipsy with their Christmas drinks samples, oops.Do you shop at costco often P*M?
Hope the kitchen leak gets sorted nice and easily & great to hear Mr BM is well & truly on the mend. :Ta penny picker upper. Shoe pic sent! P*M
I am just getting started really with Costco so still learning. Going to give it a 6/8 month trial and see how I get on.

SmlSave - the lamb was lovely and enough meat left to make some stew too! (that rhymes
)

Seem to be very short on time at the moment, but hopefully onev Easter is over it will all be bright and breezy!
Still keeping an eye on the leak - doesn't seem to have got any worse, but just consistent moisture, not helped by this never-ending rain.

Wedding:
Dress should be ready as of next week. Booked appointment for fitting. Don't know why, but I'm oddly nervous. Excited, but nervous. Maybe it will actually feel 'real' once I try the dress on if that makes any sense at all? *confused face*
Still waiting for favours to be delivered. We asked for them as a Christmas present, but fSiL has not yet confirmed whether she has ordered them.
RSVPs seem to be going well - only had about 5 declines so far, which seems a pretty good hit rate. Obviously there will most likely be drop outs on the day, but nice to think the people we want to be there will.
Got an appointment to sort out gift list a swell this weekend. Have looked online to pre-scout a couple of items. Will be providing this list to those who have asked for one - wasn't going to bother but a few people have insisted we get one.

Health:
Managed to lose 3 pounds last week which was amazing. So after a month and a half I have lost 3 pounds. I am desperately hoping that I will stay the same this week, and fed up of losing/gaining/losing/gaining etc.
Weather is not helping my get fit plans! Also, my own laziness. Did a walk on Tuesday which was good, now to factor this in everyday.

Happiness:
Have decided to hold out on my new hobby as it will cost around £600 and we simply do not have that kind of money right now.
I am however taking more time for myself and letting myself 'relax'. Sounds weird but you can get so run down sometimes, and I always seem to have something on the go, so have decided to take a break at least 1 day a month of just doing nothing.

Money:
Finding it hard to plan budget until I decide whether I am going to stay in my current job or not. Have only planned budget for the next 2 months, and then will have to take it from there.
Wedding fund will be boosted by cheque from the iLs. I am still going to try everything in my power though to make up this budget ourselves, so I can use their cheque to start the new car fund.

Perhaps consider a different, cheaper hobby for now BlueMoo? I don't know what your intended hobby was but perhaps something related?
And the 1 day off a month sounds fabulous! Make sure you stick to it.Mortgage (original/ current):193,000 (23/09/11)/ £102,500 (07/11/2019)

BlueMoo, hope all is ok? I've just been catching up & realised I haven't seen you about for a while.
Good luck with all things weddingy, it must be soon unless you're off somewhere warm already?
