Hi ApronAnnie  Nice of you to stop by. I see we have almost identical overall debt amount so interesting to plot our journeys.
I would definitely try and tackle that CC debt before OP.

Did you see the article mentioning that Princess Michael of Kent was 'experiencing
    austerity as well'
    ?

'She also told the interviewer of her love for
budget carrier easyJet saying: "it’s the only direct route to
    Biarritz."'

I don't usually get mad, but honestly.

I honestly do not understand the sheer cheek! Do they really think that? If so, happy to swap places with them and they can really see what it's like. (And I know I am definitely not one of the worst off)

Amazing savings on the rings! Well done

Thanks - doubled up on a instore offer and discount code.

They should be arriving this weekend - EEK!

    *******

Dinner last night of spaghetti carbonara.

Previous dinner was reusing the pulled pork, but this try frying up the remaining tortila wraps so they were like crunchy crisps and doing the same with some LO rice (kinda similar to arrancini)

Doing well so far on GC. My month starts again as of Friday but off to the SM on Thurs so we shall see what happens.

    ******

Little TTs made this week - 11p, 7p and an ASTONISHING 28p! :rotfl:
Altogether about 70p in the MOP account!

Can't wait to finish budgeting for the wedding so I can really get cracking. If all goes to plan, as of September we should be able to OP another 325 pm so that will be a big step forward and very exciting!

Been reading the DFW boards (just for interest really) and it's amazing how quickly it moves, and how much people have lost out on by being in debt. It has rather made me reflect on my life, thinking about this MFW plan, but I really do hope I have struck the right balance between living and paying it off.

Another TT of 20p. Now up to 90p on the MOP account.

Getting paid this week so planning my money ahead so I know exactly where it is going. OH is getting paid early too because of Christmas but will take any extra this week to the Wedding pot and Crimbo fund, but the normal accounted for wages will be popped into a random account and then will pay ourselves on his normal payday.

Got £56 pounds leftover from this month's budget so that will be tidied away to the Wedding fund. With the extras we should be very close to closing the difference.

Then it will be time to work on the honeymoon! Ah! Seems like it's never ending. However I promise my fellow MFW, I will be tackling the MOP account as soon as possible.

    *******

Still not heard from the florist - I know Christmas is a busy time, but getting slightly worried now as they have my vase....

    ******

Had a lovely takeaway last night - not planned but OH deserves it. Only came to £17 so not too bad.

Not out of GC budget anyway.

So spend day yesterday, spend today, and spend tomorrow!

    ******

Not sure what's for dinner tonight as again forgot to take out any freezer food. Will NOT be getting another takeaway though - prob a pasta bake with mediterranean vegetables.

    ******

Anyone got any ideas of Christmas day breakfast. It is just OH and me but will be driving later so no alcohol please.

I was thinking maybe American style pancakes?

American style pancakes with crispy bacon and maple syrup (honest) are lovely.

Mrs E and I will be going for buttery scrambled eggs on HM bread with some Lidl smoked salmon and salmon caviar - om nom nom!

Thanks moneycurious! Definitely feels like it at the moment with only 90p in the MOP account.

Fingers crossed though I will be able to get cracking soon.

Set myself a massive target of 150000 in the M3 challenge by Dec 2015. I will only be able to do this if I can increase my payments by October 2014. So back up target of 155000.

    Happy Christmas all.

Will be off from work as of today, so may not get the chance to log in again, so all best wishes

Good news to report - after this month's pay and great deal on the rings, I now have no difference to make up in the budget and my expected savings until the wedding! So very very happy! This has been done with cutting back, extra work, any tiny amounts possible just being put into the wedding budget so it's relief to take the brakes off a bit, and be able to relax a bit on the finances now.

    *****
Next things to budget for: Honeymoon and MOP.

On that note, saved £5 shopping so now £6.32 in the MOP account :j

Only 43.68 to go. I can only OP by upping my monthly STO so waiting until it gets to £50 to change for the month and then will have to call once gone through and change back. Bit complicated.

ETA: Would need to up OP by 500 (as of 5 months ago) to reach 100k owing by 2018, so out of reach. However, have joined the Mfit3 challenge, so am hoping 150000 (or back up 155000) by 2015, and then will just take it year by year and see how we get on. Currently looks like it will be 135000 by 2018 on current 221 OP, so provisional target of 130000 would be an achievement I think.

Been money moving today, so lots of activity. Now the wait until Monday to see what interest has been applied this month.
It's a 30 day month so probably under 600, but we shall see.

    ******

Pretty much all set to go for Christmas. Just need to bake one more cake and I should be done.

    *******

No takeaway last night. Though was very very very tempted. Managed to resist.

Came in 4.87 over GC budget but not too worried as it's Christmas and bought some treats.

    *****

Off to the foodbank this weekend to make our donation.

Got to go to town as well for a few bits and bobs, but I have an entirely free day tomorrow which is a rarity so might just relax with a couple of good films and bake some cakes.

    Resolutions:

    HEALTH

Lose 6lbs by April and 1 stone by August. This is to beachieved by following an exercise DVD 5 days a week, and decreasing portionsand turning down dessert.

Try to be more active in general. Taking stairs, walkingmore (though current weather is not conducive to this)

    WEALTH

Pay for Wedding and have it come in on budget. Overbudget by200 at the moment, but we should be able to cover this.

Save up for Honeymoon. Currently 575 off target to have themoney covered. Possibly more as we may have to dip into this fund to cover a very expensive January.

Currently on track to increase MOP payments by May (foradditional payments to start June 1st). They should increase by anextra 350 a month. This is not set in stone though due to possible job changes/lifechanges etc.

    HAPPINESS

Carve out time for my own hobby. We currently spend a lot oftime and money on my OH’s hobby, so I would like to find something for myself. Not sure yet what this will be.

Start reading at bedtime. This should hopefully improve myquality of sleep and get me reading more.

    Get a payrise/get a different job.

Increase monthly donation to charity and/or start a monthlyfoodbank donation.

  • Happy new year to you too!

Great resolutions- they seem a good balance of achievable while still a challenge to some degree. I love that you have included charity/food bank too. When looking through my finances I see my standing order to a charity I love. It would be so easy to stop that payment and divert the funds to my personal financial goals but I just can't bring myself to do so. Seeing your resolution confirms that I shouldn't! Thank you!
