Partially Satisifed... is this ok

just from my own personal experience (not with Abbey to make it clear)
Nearly 6 years ago, I had a full and final settlement offer from the DCA acting for Capital One on a CCJ'd account . I owed £500 and they accepted half. I got a letter saying full and final settlement but that my credit record would show as partially satisfied, which I wasn't really sure what it meant but thought, hey ho, it's done and dusted.
Move forward three years and with my new slightly more educated MSE head on I got my credit report and saw the CCJ wasn't marked as satisfied and the credit agreement was still marked as partially satisfied (and it was messing up my mortgage application)
I phoned Capital One and they said the only way to 'clean up' my file was to pay the remaining amount. I asked about what had happened and they say with partially satisfied, they never chase for the amount, but your credit report will only ever be marked as partially satisfied which other lenders would see if they searched. I paid the remaining amount and it changed to satisfied.
Just my experience tbh - they don't chase as the matter to them is closed, but the file is never fully closed on your credit report (until 6 years have passed and it drops off anyway).
And with I would say that the OP is well and truely answered. Makes perfect sense keren

Yes it was harsh, fulled only by your statement to inmypocketnottheirs. I (sad that I am) have had a quick browse at your previous posts and say what you will about my upbringing but surfice to say your not a particularly nice person are you?
Very quick to judge, abuse and be downright nasty.
I may know a few choice words but what my *mother did teach* me was some compassion and heart!!
Hey I make no excuses for pointing out the error in peoples ways. Perhaps if it happened more often instead of the ridiculous ganging up together that we get on here all the time more people would be helped a whole lot quicker. It's called tough love. I could spend the whole day on here telling people what they want to hear but how would that actually help them? It is common knowledge on this site what my background is - it is likely that I know more about the debt collection process and practises than most people on here. You can posture all you like but no-one can dispute that the information I give isn't absolutely spot on; you may not like it but that's life. In this case I gave the OP the benefit of my experience built up over many years - some losers come along trying to rubbish and question that knowledge, I am not about to sit idly by while someones chance at becoming debt free is scuppered by people who are simply ignorant even if it means making myself less popular; I couldn't care less.0 -

To be fair - kerens advice was much more thorough an informative AND <this is the clincher> she managed it without insulting anyone - how cool was that
I think to be honest that we should pass your comments on to Martin, I'm sure he would be very interested to hear that you know more than G*d and the rest of us are !!!!!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl::heartpuls baby no3 due 16th November :heartpulsTEAM YELLOWDFD 16/6/10"Shut your gob! Tootsie Roll, it wasn't your knowledge that was in question, it was the way you dispensed that knowledge. Call it 'tough love' if you like, but where I come from, it's called rudeness.
However, I agree that some of the information you have provided is correct and very useful. Perhaps it could be given without personal attacks against others though, that way people are more likely to respect and listen to what you have to say."I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -
I have noticed that Tootsie Roll, though somewhat insensitive at times, does actually give a lot of sound advice.0

But its that fact that he/she cannot say this with respect or judging and flaming others that has caused the agrivation!:heartpuls baby no3 due 16th November :heartpulsTEAM YELLOWDFD 16/6/10"Shut your gob!
