Yes it was harsh, fulled only by your statement to inmypocketnottheirs. I (sad that I am) have had a quick browse at your previous posts and say what you will about my upbringing but surfice to say your not a particularly nice person are you?

Very quick to judge, abuse and be downright nasty.

I may know a few choice words but what my *mother did teach* me was some compassion and heart!!

just from my own personal experience (not with Abbey to make it clear)

Nearly 6 years ago, I had a full and final settlement offer from the DCA acting for Capital One on a CCJ'd account . I owed £500 and they accepted half. I got a letter saying full and final settlement but that my credit record would show as partially satisfied, which I wasn't really sure what it meant but thought, hey ho, it's done and dusted.

Move forward three years and with my new slightly more educated MSE head on I got my credit report and saw the CCJ wasn't marked as satisfied and the credit agreement was still marked as partially satisfied (and it was messing up my mortgage application)

I phoned Capital One and they said the only way to 'clean up' my file was to pay the remaining amount. I asked about what had happened and they say with partially satisfied, they never chase for the amount, but your credit report will only ever be marked as partially satisfied which other lenders would see if they searched. I paid the remaining amount and it changed to satisfied.

Just my experience tbh - they don't chase as the matter to them is closed, but the file is never fully closed on your credit report (until 6 years have passed and it drops off anyway).
