The $64 question is whether you are male or female. It would be massively inappropriate for a male boss to invite a female staff member to lunch out of the office...
Completely disagree.My Debt Free Diary

Who set that rule?
Surely yo know that females are only considered worth taking for lunch if there is a sexual intent? Heavens forfend that a male boss should be considering poaching a female to their team based on their intellect/ ability at their job/ knowledge they might have about a competitor....People seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.

Is your boss or are you gay? I'd let him get me drunk and hope he tries to take advantage as I need a payrise.0

No neither of us are, well I'm not anyway and I think he's married.
I've heard no more about this and I saw him outside of the office an hour ago - we just exchanged hellos. I think it could have been just a fleeting comment and nothing more to it.0 -

What claptrap rubbish!
I've been invited out to lunch on many occasions by bosses - and there has never been any sexual innuendo nor any interrogation about colleagues/departments. Discussion about ongoing projects, yes, but on a colleague to colleague basis.
If that's what happens today - then I despair!0 -

Ummm that was a sarcastic retort to Alpha58's comment (which was claptrap).0
