  • Thanks everyone :)

I resisted the lure of the spend and am feeling a bit brighter today - meeting a friend later for my free John Lewis hot chocolate and cake, thanks Mr Lewis! :T

Good luck all for the week ahead - less than two weeks of NOvember to go, we can do it! :A

I have a stupid question but I am looking for some completely random information. Has anyone seen the advert for VW with all the dogs?? I am wondering what type of it is that is running behind the car??
OH and I are thinking about getting a dog in the future and it is so cute, we are thinking we want one of them. Sorry but thank you for any information.

  • Hi All

Well yesterday was a SFD so that is 9 in total :j

Today I have already blown it with calling at the shop for a cheese scone (50p) on my way into work, bah. Might do a little food shop later but not sure at the mo. It is my night to take and fetch the boys from Beavers so might get chance while they are there. Will report back later.

I have been waiting for a date to have my gallbladder removed and rang this morning as I hadn't heard anything. It will be on 9th December!!! Eeek!!! That gives me 3 weeks to get everything ready for Christmas and to be off work for probably 3 weeks. Some list making needed I reckon! On a positive side, I will get it out of the way in time to be feeling better by Christmas Day and also for a fresh start in the new year. Also, I won't be here for the works Christmas do, so that will save me at least £30! A bit scared though:eek:

Anyway, I am at work now so had better get back to it! Happy Monday :)

    SFDs - 6/25
    Groceries - £146/ 240
    Lunch to work - 11/20
    Declutter - 20+/20 items
    Earn - £21.25/80
    Toiletries - £3/£10
    Social - 3/3
    Xmas - £135/£150
    CC Paid in full

Had a fab though slightly spendy weekend. I actually only spent £45 of the £50 I budgetted as Hubby was splashing his cash ;) Did quite a bit of Christmas shopping too, almost there with it really.

Just been to the market to buy lunch supplies for rest of the week, £5 for 7 lunches is fairly good in my opinion. Work are supplying my lunch on Wednesday :)

Off to catch up on the gossip now x

    Hi Fmess,
We had a chat about it as we looked at stuff in the city, we wanted to see things "in the flesh" he has decided to withdraw the £200 as cash then put it to one side while we plan what to get them then we will see what we can get cheaper online or in the shops. I'm still going to get them the craft things as I know they will get so much out of them.
Both of us grew up in families where money was tight and our parents would spend a set amount, we remember the gifts more because we really wanted them and didn't have loads of things.

My dad didn't get much spent on him as a child yet he spoilt us rotten at Christmas and birthdays. He never spent beyond his means though. He always said he wanted us to have what he never did. Maybe your OH is of a similar mindset?
  • Here's my report for Day 17:

    11/25 SFD
    11/21 lunch
£5 squirreled away in purse - yeah, this has gone now to DD's train fares to college, but I don't think I'll need it anyway
    Petrol - 70.65/150.00
Food - 90.27/250.00 - need to check what the shop was for - not done accounts yet
    Misc. - 0/50.00
    Christmas shopping - 0/40.00
    Car maintenance - 91.05/50.00
    Toiletries - 7.74/£10
    Transferred £3 to Trussell Trust
Donated 2 things to charity shop
Extra income - 12.43 - did 2 mystery shops on sat, but prob. won't be paid until December

    Still to do:
    donate 18 things from house
list things on ebay to make some money

    Happy Monday

Well quick check in, as swamped in work. 11 SFD including today my dog broke another collar over the weekend so had to buy a new stronger one. Spent another ten pounds on bits and bobs, mainly food in home bargains. Treated myself to a dvd instead of cineworld this week at 2.99 Marigold Hotel so will chill out with that tomorrow night.
Catch up reading this thread later, feeling bright eyed and bushy tailed for a Monday, nothing to do with having a day off tomorrow:rotfl:

Clippy girl, I want to sell our Wii as it is just sat upstairs in the loft unused but DH thinks we should hang on to it. To my mind something in the loft that hasn't been used for well over a year won't be missed!
