Completed my mystery shop this morning and booked another one for Saturday so that’s another £5 for the kitty. Also, I sent an email of complaint to the train operator who runs the service that I use for work. They’ve had four days disruption over the last 10 days so I’ve asked for a discount off my next season ticket as a gesture of goodwill. Hopefully something will come of it.

I'm so glad I don't have my wallet or am too proud to beg for money other wise my will power would fade. Our whole lab smells of yummy canteen chips again from the adjacent offices.DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250

I thought it was only me who was on a bit of a downer the past couple of days, I'm comforted to know that I wasn't alone.
The best thing about the MSE forum is to come on here and say when you're feeling down, because you're guaranteed to find people saying "me too." It's great to be cheered on when you're doing well, but far more valuable to know that when it's not going so well you'll find support.
Another SFD for me today, although having the 100% shea butter I ordered arriving in the post today feels like I've had a treat all the same!Total debt: [STRIKE]£9473.62[/STRIKE] £7,384.87 22% PAIDTAF #25 NSD 8/12 | Food £43.45/£50 | eBay 0/20 | Exercise 5/18:T Proud to be Dealing with my Debt :TDFD: June 20150 -

yesterday ended up being huge spendy day. Have had to buy myself a new laptop. Mine's been playing up for a while and I knew it was on the way out but I hoped it would last a bit longer. It's nothing fancy, got a membership discount and quid co cashback on it.
Only spent £4 in the supermarket on lunchy food but also bought a dvd (xmas pressie)
Planned night out tonight with bestie for a carvery. £10 budgetted for this.
It's payday tomorrow and Hubby has decided we should go out for a meal tomorrow night, go xmas shopping on Saturday and generally make the most of not working this weekend. I see his point so I'm going to have a play around with budgets and see what we can afford. It seems a lot of the pressies left to buy are being bought with vouchers/points rather than cold, hard cash so we could have some of that budget spare...
Kat - what about a DVD to go with the book for gran? There must be some around about the Belfast blitz online.0 -
Afternoon! Haven't posted in a while! Been so busy with making homemade christmas presents I just haven't had much time to check in. I'm rubbish!
SFD's is up to : 10/20. WOOHOO! I'm so pleased. We usually find it hard to do that as we don't have a car so can't do BIG shopping trips unless we get a taxi. It's mine and OH's anniversary on saturday so we were going for a meal but we cant afford to so im going to cook him something super instead! Will go for his 3 favourite courses I think
We've barely spent anything on presents for xmas so far. I've been using amazon vouchers from survey sites etc to order things and the hamper for OH's family is mainly homemade things which haven't cost us! SCORE!
Enjoy your days! xx
Goals: Save £500 for emergencies, Save £200 of Amazon vouchers for Xmas, fix my holey clothes!

What kind of things have you made for christmas presents?
What fab food will you cook your OH?
Sorry if I'm nosey
Edit: Just realised I should be a little richer next month. CB is paid every 4 weeks and will fall into December twice. Plus the nursery will officially shut for three days over christmas and these are the only days we don't have to pay. So in total I should have £200 more to put away unless of course the nursery reimburses us later in the new year like last year.DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -

Hehe, You're not nosey!
We've made some chutneys, relish, some herby breadcrumbs, a "odd socks" hanger (it's a bit of wood with pegs glued on and we've painted it white with some flowers painting on looks very cute!), a recipe book full of cheap recipes (some I got from MSE!), an apron and we will be making some gingerbread biscuits that keep for about 2 months!. OH's family are coming on the 1st of december as they live about 3 hours away so we're having to be really prepared before them come! lol.
I make a really yummy garlic and potato soup which I will do for a starter, then main will be BBQ ribs (out of a packet!:rotfl: ) with onion rings, chips and coleslaw and then cheesecake for desert. I don't eat meat so will have to find something to replace the ribs on my plate! We can scoff our faces in our own home then without people looking at uslol!

Loving the idea of an odd socks hanger. I'll be making spice mixes, cookies, as well as orange and cranberry vodka (a lot less work than the limoncello I made the last few years).
Sounds delicious. We'll be having (packet) ribs and chips tomorrow too (little Friday tradition lately). You just got me the idea to also make onion rings and I can use up the remains of the coleslaw to go with it.DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -
I love making onion rings, They taste so much better when handmade
I am going to make some lemon drizzle cake for when they come to visit and probably serve some lunch. I'm starving now because of all the talk about food!
xx
P.s, how do you make the vodka? it sounds exciting! xx
