  • Kangadoo I hope you feel better... it's hard when you have worries and have to think about how to fix them, or change things, but then have to factor in not spending any money doing it... It seems to make everything ten times harder.

Spends going on here, which is annoying me. Friday was nsd, but we had to go to a friend's birthday do last night and spent £10 on drinks. OH also lent someone £10, so hopefully we'll get that back...

We went to visit our new kittycat today, she can't come home till next weekend as she is poorly from her neutering. Can't wait till she joins us.

Getting close to the end of the month and I am desperate to make that next big payment on the cc...

  • Spendy day after 8 SFD's in a row. Spends on food - £12.19 at a!di, £1.90 at c0op, £1.58 at 99p store (59p on squash, rest was from christmas budget) amd 49p in B&M.

Brings food spends for month to £93.44 (including food bank donation). No more spendy days planned for NOvember so I'm pleased i've come in underbudget, however, looking at receipts could have knocked about £10 off from unnecessary spends.

    SFD17/25
    Lunch to work 13/18
    Food £93.44/£100 (including foodbank donation)
    Foodbank £3.59/£3

I need to confess :( (its lengthy I'm afraid, I am feeling very guilty)

Tomorrow is my payday, but today we ran out of bread and milk which are OHs essentials (and bread is needed to make his packed lunch tomorrow). To get these cheaply, I needed to go to A!di but as we were nearly out of everything else as well, I would also need to go back to A!di tomorrow to do the food shopping. However, I have to go to work, then a meeting, and then have less than two hours to walk all the dogs and make tea before going to volunteer in the evening, so I wouldn't have time to go shopping. So I justified to myself that I should do all the shopping today (put on the ccard until tomorrow) and at least make tomorrow a SFD.

Whilst I was out, the red light started to flash on the car, so I got petrol too. The petrol station is at Asd4 so decided to get the pet food, whilst I was spending and there :(

To top it off, I've just splurged on two dresses from DP online :( I am only keeping one and it is to be for all the Christmas events (and is in my Dec budget), but it was free delivery over £50 and my dress was £32, so I ordered a second to get the free delivery.

    I now feel huge guilt;
    a.) for using the ccard
b.) for spending so much in one day
c.) for buying an item of clothing

I feel like I've fallen off the wagon, although in reality everything is budgeted for in my Dec totals, but I am a day before payday so it feels wrong and uncontrolled. Its also reminded me how easy it is to spend money :(

  • Quick post as I'm not feeling that great.

    SFD today, which makes 21!

I've spent the day baking three christmas cakes, it was meant to be only two but I have varying cake tin sizes and one was overflowing and the other tin was smaller, so I got out a third tin and dished the mixture out.

So, ten hours of the oven being on, baking cakes, my house smells of cakes and the sink wasn't big enough for all the washing up, lol.

Weirdly, the reason I am not feeling that great is because of baking all day, everytime I do an epic amount of baking or cooking I get to feeling a little unwell. It will have passed by tomorrow, not sure what it is, but it seems to always happen.

Hoping my spends from yesterday will show up tomorrow and I can transfer the money back into the right account...oh, and I need to find where the right card is so that I don't do the same thing again.

    Impressive NSDs! Well done! :T:T

Also like your comment about 'unnecessary spends' as I know I do this, even though I keep to budget. Methinks this is something for me to address next month. But why wait til then?! I can start next food shop. Every penny saved is a penny more into savings, or off the mortgage.

    Quick check in.

Spend day yesterday when my friend came to visit me. Low spend though, but means I am unlikely to hit 25. I knew I would have to break the SFD due to park, so I "took advantage" of this and picked up a few Xmas gifts and picked up a new handbag for me as mine had broke :( £12 spent in Primani on said bag. I haven't spent money on myself, clothing etc, for ages! I walked around the shop with it for ages.

Today I've been at some training for my 2nd job which was ace! Got a lift there and back. Provided lunch, snacks and drinks so nothing spent as planned! SFDs total- 19/25.

Work tomorrow. Gym, interview and 2nd job appointment on Tues. Meetings on Weds plus pole class. Meeting, Lidl shop then friend catch up on Thurs. Meeting and gym before night duties begin on Fri. Payday is Weds. Woop!:T

    Good evening.

This is spend-free day number 19!!!!
    :j

Erm... I will be off the radar until Friday night as I leave at 04:00 for my trip to disneyland!! (booked before my lbm and my one holiday this year).
    :D

Thanks for letting me have number 8 NSK. It's just cause I won't be back until the 29th and I was worried I would miss it.
    :undecided

Just as an aside thing: I can't believe how much these challenges have affected the way I look at things and how much money I was effectively wasting.
    It's quite amazing really.
    :o

See you all in a few days.
    Hugs.
