Valli.. is that the homecare 300?? how much is it a month? mine is the 100 but doesn't cover the plumbing. I wasn't sure the 200 would benefit us as the heating system is cheap enough to repair it is the boiler that is expensive.. but I wasn't sure if the 300 was a good idea
It is. It's £32.69 a month and I get an annual service for that (and plumbing cover).
My boiler's broken down before (is worried is tempting fate) and I almost forgot about the plumbing...
they also service the gas fire (which I hardly ever use) annually and they have looked at sticky rad valves before and unstuck them for me, too.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson

I just had the boiler service yesterday they were meant to call me about the gas fire being serviced too but didn't so it didn't get done I think the fire would be condemned tbh lol. The boiler repairs are covered too with a £50 excess. that's a big jump in price too.. the 200 is £14 a month.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0

I've been to homebase & bought a dehumidifier and a. Christmas tree. I also had a 15% off voucher so used that. Then went to sainsburys. Picked up my prescription & bought some Christmas presents.
Which dehumidifier did you choose? Have you had one before, just spent at least an hour looking into them and still can't decide if I could bear the noise (I hear white noise so think I would struggle) or the elecricity costs.

Just the homebase own brand. It will be mainly used upstairs & not overnight so the noise doesn't bother me. I certainly would t be able to sleep hearing the noise. I hate noise & light when I'm trying to sleep!0 -

Just asked, was £50 per week. Think I worked out that half the shared bills (ie not my mobile, gym or mortgages) is about £87.50 so not much more.

Hugs, spoons, sticks, vibes etc as needed to all . I'm tired and nothing I've read has stayed in my head

I can hear white noise as well! Glad I'm not the only one as DD thinks I'm just weird
We have an @rg0s value one in DDs bedroom (the small £50 one I think it is) and although its audible it soon blends into the background and I don't notice it. I don't know how much noise a larger one would make though.
Not much achieved here. I've washed up, sorted through a pile of paperwork throwing about half of it out, updated finances (good job too as I discovered I'd paid my work bill by transferring money from my personal account as I couldn't get to the bank and had forgotten to put it down! I was only £250 down on what I thought so its a good job I didn't do any Christmas shopping as I haven't got the money until next weeks as all the big bills get paid Friday ) and put a load of jacket potatoes in the slow cooker but not sure I'm keen on them cooked that way.
I'm just going to tidy up the livingroom then head to bed. I have work tomorrow and its going to be a complicated day as stuff is out of stock
Thankfully I'm not delivering until Friday night instead of Thursday this time (I am not leaving the house Halloween night so I can tackle any eggings as soon as possible!) so I don't have as tight a deadline as usual. I still have to be up and sorted by 7am though
Best shift myself before I swallow the laptop yawning. Catch you all tomorrow :wave:Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
Thought I had better test it - it's very nice - can be drunk 'neat'.
It was really, really easy to make - blackberries, vodka (cheapest own label) and vanilla sugar. I filtered it back into clean bottles (rinsed out with just-boiled water) through a muslin. Quicker than sloe gin, apparently it's ready in a week - mine has has a few weeks longer due to mitigating circumstances. The bottles in the picture are the 'posh' ones, I have a half bottle as well.
Incidentally Aldi have huge cans of WD40 (ideal for getting labels off bottles) this week for £1.99!Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson
