    vnms welcome

DS3 had a brilliant day and is exhausted (result).

Just doing dinner, need to drop DS2 at the train station later so I will pop into the supermarket at the same time as I'm short of supplies.

Flyladies, let me tell you that 40 minutes is not long enough to take down, wash, dry & polish 5 light shades with about 100 crystal pear drops each. I was over optimistic before the paid stuff yesterday and DH and I were still putting them back last night.

Today, I've done paid stuff, dailies and cleaned the undersink cupboard. Happy with that.

    Catch you all later.

I've discovered I work much better if I nibble away at difficult things rather than trying to tackle the job from start to finish, which is why I keep procrastinating. I've managed to make a bit of progress on the filing, the Challenge, an old art project and silver cleaning by doing a tiny bit on each of them every day. Every little helps, and all that.

I also turned the immersion heater in the attic off today. I've also reset its timeswitch to ping 'Off' at midnight and mid-day, so if I ever forget to switch it off after I've had a shower it will reset itself. It means I won't have it heating up twice a day on the basis that whenever I want a shower there is enough hot water - I always know 45 minutes in advance if I want one, so I can use the pull switch in the bathroom to put it on especially in future. MSE and all that.
    Better is good enough.

I now no longer need to keep a screwdriver and torch in the bathroom - cistern inlet valve (broken) has been replaced with a working one. All hail BG 3 star cover!

    Chicken soup is simmering

Blackberry vodka is all strained; muslin I strained it through was washed then bleached.

Trouser fastener fitted; another pair of trousers - bought a MONTH ago - have been taken up. one to do but I need natural light to sew by.

Valli.. is that the homecare 300?? how much is it a month? mine is the 100 but doesn't cover the plumbing. I wasn't sure the 200 would benefit us as the heating system is cheap enough to repair it is the boiler that is expensive.. but I wasn't sure if the 300 was a good idea

    Dailies done.
    Cat stuff done
    Bathroom done today.

Heating guy been and fixed bedroom radiator. He is very good and has not charged for 2 or 3 little jobs he has done. So I insisted on a payment and it was only a tenner.

Roofer was supposed to come but no sign. That's him binned.

Been at work all day. A mixture of meeting and greeting and A&E.
  • I would like to report an update on the housework, but tbh, I've not done much.

I've been to homebase & bought a dehumidifier and a. Christmas tree. I also had a 15% off voucher so used that. Then went to sainsburys. Picked up my prescription & bought some Christmas presents.

I've sorted out some clothes. Made macaroni cheese for the kids & my tea. Made a cottage pie for himself for when he gets in from work.

Need to wash up & then bath ds2.
