The house on paper is mine (though he does officially live here, doesn't own it though) so I don't really think it's fair to ask for half of all the bills. Before the move he did stay over every night but didn't officially live there, more just had a long term sleepover haha He gave me £50 a week to pay for food shopping (wasn't meal planning at the time) but I think that's not really a fair price for living here. Any thoughts on what's fair?
I'd go half on the bills .. food, utilities, internet, water, landline.. everything.. apart from the mortgage.. It needs to remain your house.
OH pays £60 a week towards the bills and I pay MY mortgage and the evil bank loan (which is almost gone!). It leaves him with £54 a week to spend on himself (phonebill and comics mainly) and I get the money for the children so provide their things.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Morning,
Off on a roll, completely forgot Tiny's doctors appointment this morning which got met with a lecture when I went in and apologised. It was in the phone that went swimming but I even was in there last night with DD1 for her flu jab and asked what time it was - feel bad now.
Did quite well yesterday here's hoping today is the same.
Welcome Linda

So anyway, so far today I have managed to have a shower.
I have unsuccessfully tried to repair the dehumidifier. I need to buy a new one this afternoon.
The windows are running with water every morning. It's dreadful.0 -
Going to give the fridge a good clean tonight plus a bit more ironing. I managed to get some done last night along with some hot spot tidying and picking things up from where they've been dumped.
FLYING!!!!!0 -
So I had to do an unexpected bit of flying this morning when I found my cat had somehow got some poo on the CARPETED stairs!!! He had done the majority in the litter tray, and then must have had some that fell off / out of his back end on his way back upstairs?! No idea, never happened before. Cue me scrubbing floors and carpet with all manner of things before leaving for work this morning. Not sure if the smell has come out because then I was just paranoid.
Any tips for cleaning cat poo smell from carpets?!Need to reassess the situation on my return home later.

It needs to remain your house.
That was why I didn't want to ask for half of everything. I have a paranoia of things going wrong and him beign entitled to a share in the house or flat. Both were bought solely by me and I've even (albeit jokingly) said that if we were to marry I'd want a pre nup stating that both properties were mine at the start of the relationship and will remain that way if it ends. He made noises about contributing so i suggested if he wanted to buy a bed for the spare room or particular pieces then if things broke down he could take those with him.
Will sit with him this week and work through his finances, he 'came' to me from his folks house so he's never had to budget or work out how to pay for things which makes life very difficult. When I showed him the list of bills etc he suggested he just have his salary handed to me and i distribute it as required. Think it was a joke as I wouldn't want to be so controlling but he does need a foot up the behind for these things. Sure we'll get there.
Thanks for the advise

Some windows cleaned.
Some chipped paintwork touched up.
Fuse replaced in stick blender (again), but it still doesn't work.
Stuff taken up to the attic.
Stuff brought down from the attic and put away.
Some stuff tidied in the attic.
Attic, linen press, personal linen drawer and top cupboard searched for ex-lodger's towel. I've been keeping it safe for when he returns (Thursday) and now can't find it. *Grr* at self.
1 huge load of towels twirling in the WM because we have had blue skies all morning. When I was up in the attic, it started to rain. *double grr*
Challenge: The opening of Chapter 1 has been rewritten again and I think I've actually got it right enough to move on.Better is good enough.0 -
Is anyone doing the 0rganized Home Christmas planning? I am trying it for the first time this year - just got a ring binder together
I've been doing it for over a decadeI joined 0rangised Home back in 2001 after DD was born and I learnt a lot. I fell off the wagon the past few years, but I still use aspects of it now. My only problem with it is that since its a USA based one they include Thanksgiving stuff which throws me every year :rotfl: I'm trying to come up with my own one this year which combines all the different plans into one which works for me. Only problem is my time management skills are awful atm so I haven't made a start on anything other than a budget whereas in theory I should have most of the house deep cleaned, some gifts sorted and wrapped, cards written etc etc :rotfl::rotfl:
Afternoon all
Today is an admin day because I am sick of looking at the basket of papers. I also need to try and work out why our scanner will 'talk' to DD's laptop but not mine :wall: ATM I'm having to scan stuff to DDs laptop and I can't find my pen drive to use to transfer the stuff to mine
I went to Mr A this morning, priced up some Christmas bits and bought 2 lots of candy canesI already have a packet of tree chocs, so its nearly time to start on the selection box buying instead
Currently struggling with that annoying temperature where if I put a jumper on I'm too hot, but without one I'm too coldNow we've just had a downpour of hail stones followed by glorious sunshine so it would seem the weather doesn't know what to do either :rotfl:
I best go get some lunch then try and get all this paperwork sorted. :wave:Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0
