It's just a re-purposed Roku box limited to Sky's services and partner services. There have been some complaints about the service going down at awkward moments.
If you mostly just watch Netflix, which you can't get through Now TV at present, you might want to consider an alternative. You could purchase an actual Roku box which would be a more expensive initial outlay but provides a lot of free entertainment as well as access to Now TV and Sky Store on top of Netflix and other services. Or you could look at purchasing something like a Smart Blu Ray player which supports Netflix and other apps (I have a Samsung one which has, among many others, Netflix, Amazon, Blinkbox etc. support built in).
Or is there something specific you'd be looking at from Now TV?
It's not difficult to use. Plug it in to the TV via HDMI, connect it to your home network, a few set up menus and done.0 -
I watch Netflix through my xbox 360, I like the idea of having access to Sky Atlantic through Now TV's entertainment package so I can watch HBO series likes Boardwalk Empire and Girls which will never make it to Netflix, I like the idea of having the option to have a month of Sky movies - especially over Christmas, and my husband would probably like the option of having sports day passes.0

For that then I'd say Now TV is a reasonable service and I wouldn't suggest going to the trouble and expense of getting a proper Roku box or other device since you already have a means to watch Netflix anyway.
As I say, there have been some criticisms of its reliability but it's usually just dropping out at awkward moments. One thing to consider, possibly, is that unless it has changed recently live TV is streamed in 480p SD whereas on-demand content and movies are streamed at 720p so if you wanted to watch Boardwalk Empire in a HD resolution, you're best waiting until it's among the on-demand offerings.0 -
Perfect - thank you! I'm not too concerned about reliability, Virgin have been terrible recently and we've had days of no access to TV or internet!0

ITV Encore is to appear in a week or so time.
It made a brief appearance on Thursday -- but then taken off again.
I need to contact Now TV directly - ideally via Telephone - as I have an issue with their Help Team - and fear that if I send my query via email - it will never see the light of day.
I have asked for Gidon Katz contact details, but I get the impression that their Help team don't know who is is !0 -
Now TV can now be accessed via Chromecast. Makes the little gadget more versatile. That gum you like is coming back in style.0

Just bear in mind that Now TV sees it as a separate device, so in effect you will be using 2 of you 4 devices if you view via chromecast.

After talking to sky for 2 hours I finally cancelled it. All I watched was Sky 1, Atlantic and Fox.
I'm considering the Now TV box and was wondering when series such as Walking Dead, NCIS appear. Is it the same time as aired on Sky?
I guess theres no way of storing the shows, so they have to be watched within a certain time?
Thanks0 -

They have a catch up service whereby the shows appear on there and available to watch for a certain time period after they've first aired. The length of time from first broadcast to on-demand availability seems to vary. Some shows appear within minutes of their first broadcast. Others can take a day or two to show up. Not every show on the channels that Now TV draws content from will be available via this method, although you can watch the programming live.
Every so often they have box sets (like what you were getting with Sky) to watch at your leisure until they expire. Often times, bigger shows such as Boardwalk Empire, Walking Dead, Game of Thrones etc. will have the full box set appear a few weeks/months prior to the first airing of the newest season.
And yes, there's no means to download and store them for later.0
