I have managed to connect up and get working an old TV using a Now TV box. I am on the free trial for 30 days. I had to give my card details to get the free trial but I do not think I want to continue. If I cancel the payment will the box still work showing the standard BBC, ITV Free to air channels? This would be useful if it would.0

Confused. It does not show the FTA channels now, just the various download players which will continue. The subscription services which ever you may have, entertainment, movies and or sports will stop.0 -
I mean will it continue to allow me to still access BBC I Player, ITV Player, 4OD and Demand 5...... ie still be able to access the basic TV catch up?0

Yup. All the catch up services you now have.0

I realise this is a bit of a broad one but I just can't find the right advice.....
I used to have Sky+ and was happy with it. I moved in with family for 6 months so cancelled the service and I'm now about to move into my own place again.
I need a new TV set and I don't know where to start - all I really want from my TV is a decent picture and to be able to pause, rewind and record. I would like to get Sky Atlantic and Sky One but not fussed about any extra channels like movies and sport.
Do I go for a bog standard TV and join Sky again, do I go Freeview, do I get one of these fancy "smart" TVs, and if so do I still need a subscription to Sky or similar??
Hope that someone can maybe point me in the right direction - thanks in advance!!0 -
You won't get Sky Atlantic unless you get Sky.
It is not available on Freeview0 -
Thanks wiogs - it's little things like this that I'm not very sure about!0

If Sky Atlantic is the deal breaker then it is a Sky subscription that you will need.
If you can live without it and want Freeview then you would need a box like this to pause rewind etc. once connected to your aerial.
If you already have a dish, as opposed to an aerial then you could go down the Freesat route, again no Sky Atlantic.
A Smart TV allows you to access on demand services like BBC iPlayer, 4OD etc.0 -
