    Ah, okay.

    http://www.nowtv.com/box

    http://www.youview.com/whats-on/

Youview has Freeview and recording capability, and Now TV doesn't.

Now TV has one or two internet type apps, Youview only has TV-related players.

YouViews Now TV app only offers on demand content. A now TV box offers both on demand and live TV. Both are chargeable of course.

On Talktalk/Youview, there's a separate Sky subscription service. The NowTV app just does on-demand movies.

I hadn't heard of now tv but after a bit of googling that sounds like exactly what I need - thank you! So if I'm getting a new set anyway, it looks as though a smart lg tv could be my best bet, as it has now tv already installed. Thanks for the help!

Now TV has Sky Atlantic as part of its entertainment package. My daughter has it in her room - usually get three month pas on ebay for £14-£15. Saves Sky contract, but you do need unlimited broadband because you will be using it to watch TV.

I got offered the same offers when I cancelled the free movies trial. Still cancelled. I only watched 2 films in the whole month of the free trial. Nothing else I wanted to watch or just stuff I've seen upteen times before.

    Hello,

I want to get a NOW TV box but just for the box itself so I get the catch up channels, I thought you can just buy it for about a tenner and do that but cant find anywhere on the NOWTV site that lets me do it? Also I don't want any contracts I just want to pay for the box a one off payment and that's it, can this be done?

    Anyone help me with this?

Also does it still have bbc iplayer, itv player, 4od ad 5od on it?

    thanks

yeah we bought a box (came with a film voucher which we used anyway) so now we have the box and no contract or anything . Just go to their home page and you can buy the box from them direct i think for 9.99
  • I wonder if some Now TV users can offer their opinion on this.

I've got a full Sky satellite package, but I'm looking at getting rid of the movies and sport and taking them on a pay as I use basis through Now TV.

Are there any differences in the service from Now TV rather than satellite? Do you get the same movie on demand selection or is it restricted? Do you get all the sport or are there rights issues?

Also if anyone is watching Now TV through an Apple TV - how good is the picture quality? - they claim 720p which is equivalent to HD, and I have a good fibre connection but I'm a bit sceptical...

    Thanks for any help

It will work on any ADSL Max, WBC, or LLU service fine. E.g clear picture and sound with no buffering. Most if not all broadband in the UK is either of these now (excluding cable) so Fibre is not a necessity.

We've got Fibre broadband and use a Now TV box and the picture is great. Although the Standard Def live streaming isn't as good. I think Apple TV supports 720p for live TV too.
