  • I hadn't heard of now tv but after a bit of googling that sounds like exactly what I need - thank you! So if I'm getting a new set anyway, it looks as though a smart lg tv could be my best bet, as it has now tv already installed. Thanks for the help!

Don't let Now tie you down to a very narrow choice, as Now boxes are very cheap.

Whilst I do agree they have a narrow choice the entertainment pack does have the channels the op watches. Bit daft to pay sky prices if you don't need to.

I have cancelled my multi room and have set up now tv. I pay less and can still watch my progs while kids have theirs.

I think teddysmum was referring to the narrow choice of TV's with NowTV already installed rather than the choice of channels.

I'm not sure how long LG support their smart TV's but my samsung was a 2010 model and it's still getting updates now, alas not NowTv though.

There are normally good offers if you buy a NowTV box, e.g. 3 months entertainment pass with a box for about £15.

Not saying this is going to work for everybody but a good chance it will for those who have a Sky Nowtv box and currently in trial for the movie package.

My trial month was almost up, so went into my account to cancel. When I clicked cancel another webpage came up showing me the upcoming movies and asking do I really want to cancel.
I clicked cancel again and another page came up with all the retention offers which were.
    1 £7.99 per mth instead of £9.99
2 3 months for one off fee of £20.99
3 5 month for one off fee of £32.99 which I took which reduces it to £6.60 a month instead of £9.99.

Got the entertainment package as well which came with box so interested to know what they offered you if you threatened to cancel as well? Mine doesn't run out until april and I do have a voucher for 3 mths after that.

  • Yes I had this as well.

Sky Movies free trial came to an end so logged on to cancel and these offers popped up. Still cancelled as I wanted to try the entertainment pack for a month.

    Cheers

I won a youview box, which is nice for the catch up tv, though there is no web browser..

I understand some others have this, and some other channels, but on a subscription (NowTV?)

    What's your question?

One of the confusing things is that Now TV is the name of the service, and Sky's proprietary box that is one of the platforms that runs the service.

what would getting a now tv box, with no subscription, give 'extra', to a regular youview set, (if such a thing exists)..
