(((hugs))) PP Can you ask for an emergency appointment, letting them know your medical history? This must seem like the last straw for you! We have had to go private as our dental practice was so oversubscribed (and not that good:eek: )Our days are happier when we give people a bit of our heart rather than a piece of our mind.

Morning everybody :hello:
Haven't been on here over the weekend due to the hassle of switching on my half-dead laptop and making it STAY switched on. Hopefully my new one won't take too long to arrive. The estimated delivery date at the moment is 2nd July and I can't wait
I've been busy all weekend. On Saturday I got on the bus and took a job lot of stuff to the dry cleaners near my old house, where they do 4 garments for £6! Then went to the market for fruit and veg and got quite spectacularly rained on. The weather luckily cleared by the evening and we had a very pleasant barbecue in my cousin's back garden with my cousin, her sister, another of our cousins (who I haven't seen for years), my dad, and my cousin's housemates and their friends.
On Sunday I found a nice new pair of "work" trousers in the Wallis sale (it would have been two nice new pairs of trousers, but I got to the checkout and realised I had left my debit and credit cards at home, and I only had enough cash for one pair - still that's probably a good thing:rolleyes: ) I also went to Asda and bought, among other things, a jug blender so I can make fruit smoothies and so on - I went a bit mad with it straight away, and I'm still picking raspberry pips out of my teeth :rotfl:
Also watched the Cardiff Singer of the World final (where I think the judges made absolutely the right decision) and just before going to bed, I made a strawberry jelly full of real strawberries  which will contribute to my five-a-day this evening and tomorrow.
The new week hasn't started particularly well - I overslept (woke in time to make it to work for 9am, but didn't have time for a shower  and had to get the bus instead of walking - still, given what the weather is doing, that's probably a good thing!) and also, my next door neighbour started playing LOUD music in his bedroom (whcih has a party wall with my bedroom) at about 8am. It must have been seriously loud, as the walls in my building are quite a decent thickness and I could hear it as if it was in my own flat
Oh, the reason I overslept was that I was just turning the telly off at about midnight when I happened to flick onto BBC2 and discovered that Topsy-Turvy was on - so I watched it in bed, right to the end
Penny-Pincher!! - good luck with the needle nurse and dentist ((((hugs))))
scuzz and tinkerbelluk - why's everybody hung over this morning - did you all have a big OS party?
MATH - I don't know which is worse, neighbours playing loud music, or neighbours loudly making sweet music
Hugs to anybody feeling low. As I've not been here over the weekend I have probably missed people's news.
Lots of love

Morning everyone!
Brought a big bag of hugs with me today, please help yourselves. And if you want two, that's fine as well.
Math and Kaz, great to hear from you.
Heavy rain in the night, and the cat bringing a (live) mouse into the bedroom made for a bit of a disturbed night.
We have bags and bags and bags of garden stuff to take to the tip. Lots of nasty perennial weeds, which I don't like to put in our own compost as iit doesn't get hot enough to kill off the seeds etc. More soil, we're levelling off the new seating area (snap, PenPen) which is our ex concretery. Nope, we won't be going just now as it's started to pour down! Maybe later then.
DH wants to go to a specialist hardware shop about 25 miles away. We brought some Kauri wood back from NZ and he's going to have a go at Turning it, and he needs some special tools. Suits me, as it means I should be able to sneak to the gym and back in the time it takes him.
Dinner tonight will be Chill, and I think we'll have rice for a change. Last few times we've had piadines, which we love. Hmm. Maybe piadines.
Am waiting for my John Lewis vouchers to arrive from my Partnership Card spend. I'm going to get the new Panny breadmaker I think.
Will pop back later to catch up on all your news
PS we seem to have quite a lot of people missing in action. Anyone know what's happening with Moggins (aka Moggins Revisited), Smokeybabe, etc?0 -
Haven't really got time to post today, but had to come on to say lovely to hear from you Kazonline!!!! Glad life is going well for you.
Had a busy weekend, and today DH and I are off to Bluewater. Look out John Lewis, here I come! I love that shop and could spend a fortune there. Well I could if I had one:rotfl:
Well must dash, DH is beginning to get fidgety, and I want him sweet for the shops;)

Morning all and huge hugs to those who are sick - whether self inflicted or not.
Had a lovely weekend - picnic at the Hammersmith Greenfest with youngest dds, dgs and exoh - shame he had to come actually as he was a misery all day but it was for Father's Day so we couldn't have done it without him really I suppose. Got a couple of free shopping bags with ecover and fair trade samples in them and the littlies made hanging baskets out of plastic coke bottles, compost and lobelias - dgs ate most of his judging by the state of his face
I've had some good news - firstly my Dad is getting married in August - we have asked him to think very carefully about this as they have only been together for thirty years but he's pretty sure he's doing the right thing. it will be a very civil affair and they are really only bothering for tax purposes. I will try to get over to Holland for that but I only have 32 hours leave left until December
Even better than that my dbro and his family are coming from New Zealand at christmas to spend a month with my Dad. my dbro's partner is Dad's wife to be's sister (if that makes sense) so everyone is really happy. Dad says he will celebrate the wedding properly then so I may just go then instead.
Today I am doing the flylady catchup which is my usual Monday joy and am in the middle of making some bortch (sp?) with some beetroot from my very own garden :T I also have one courgette picked this morning - these are the first real veggies apart from salad and a few carrots that we've pulled up just to see how they're getting on. might try to do some baking as well if I don't collapse later
have a great day
stefI'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 20080 -

I have to confess I stopped in bed till 10am:eek:my DH and I are on a week off work ( no we dont live next door to MATH:rotfl: ) so we caught up on our sleep!;)
Had hoped to do some hedge cutting today but weather is looking grotty:rolleyes: so might have a leisurely day.
(((hugs))) to crazychick, PennyPincher and everyone else feeling rough this morning xxxDo what you love :happyhear0 -
thats very poor service PP especially considering your medical condition. are they aware of how poorly you are? we are very lucky with our dentist. not only are we still nhs, but we have never once had any problems getting seen at short notice. my son's abscess saga could not have been handled any better.
just back from the hairdressers. oh my god.....I let her cut it a bit shorter than I usually have. I have a bob, but I now have a posh spice bob! I think the most positive thing to say at the moment is it will grow! quickly i hopex x x0
