Don't worry about the water - I'm in Scotland too and it's included in council tax here there's no separate bill, hopefully you get this paid for you at the mo.
Don't lose your confidence over the jobs, it's hard but you'll get there just keep going and don't let it get you down.

Check with you local Council to make sure you are paying the right Council Tax. I don't know how it works in Scotland but here if there is only one person in the property they only pay 75% and people on JSA (and other benefits) can apply to the Council for help with rent and Council Tax.
Find out who you are and do that on purpose (thanks to Owain Wyn Jones quoting Dolly Parton)
Thanks Tealady. I'm already in reciept of the single persons council tax reduction and I'm curently claiming job seekers allowance with housing and council tax benefit.
At the moment I'm just stuck in a rut with being out of work, and because I was fired from my last job. Out of the 60+ job applications I've filled in since March and the pittiful 8 interviews I've been given, nobody wants to hire me.
I've got the Jobcentre today at 11.30, so I'll be asking for them to help me find work rather than just printing off random applications and stuffing them in my hand.

 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast
I'll do a propper update once I'm back from the jobcentre and I've had a sleep. I've not been to bed yet and I'm starting to feel woozy, silly mare that I am.

Today was not a very good day. Reason being because I still haven't been to bed yet. I'll bed tonight for sure, but last night was an insomnia attack that obviously wanted out, so I had to let it.
Went to the jobcentre with my belly rumbling something terrible. When in and signing on I told the woman that I wanted onto the work train scheme. she said I'd have had to been signing on for over six months before I can go on that. But because I have a bad back and dislocating joints I would be able t be accepted straight away because I have something going against me getting another job. Err,... thanks. I think.
So I took paperwork away with me and went down to Halifax to withdraw the last of my worldly coins. There was exactly one pound missing, and I panicked a wee bit. Well, I had accounted for each of them and had already planned their use. Anyway, I took my £7 from the chap behind the counter and walked home.
"Babes food £4, clios food 60p, cat litter £1.19..." £5.79 leaving me with £1.11 untill next week. The Virgin bill came in too. £80+.
tonights dinner consisted of spaghetti with plum tomatoes mixed in. that's all I could think off the top of my head. the tomatos were a shocking three years out of date. Didn't stop me trying them tho. And I found an angel delight type puddingmix, but asdas own mix. It's a year and a half out of date, bit tasted and smelled nice.
Anyway, I need to skip the bus tomorow to go visit my boyfriend. He wants to take me to a resturaunt for a "Propper dinner". Right now burgers in a tin would taste like steak, there's no need....but I do appreciate it.
More clicks, I need more money making ideas. Gaah!
toodles the noo.

the door chapped at around 10.30am, and true to form I didn't answer it. I neither answer telephone nor door unless I'm expecting someone. Odd, I know. But years of depression and a couple of break downs leaves you with some little...shall I say...'quirks'?
There was no leaflet put though the door either. surely if someone can come to my door at 10.30 am on a Saturday, then it's important enough that they leave a note to say they were here. But yeah I know, I won't answer the door.
At this point, this far on in my debts, It can be either one of two people...or maybe even both! Housing association (I now stand to owe them £700) who started a notice of procedings with me to take me to court to get their flat back, or the scottish power folk. To whom I owe collectively £400+.
I'm going to visit my boyfriend today and now I'm just wanting to stay indoors away from the world. I wish I could tell my creditors that I want to pay them back and have them believe me. I wish I could tell them I've taken a job talking smutt to dirty, old, perverted men to try to earn the cash to pay them back. Not that the'd care.
Anyway, I need to go make breakfast and then go cut my mums garden before going away for the day.

you forgot the third - religious sorts out to save your soul! I've nothing against them but they knocked on my door in a really agressive manner yesterday and scared the sh*t out of me. I answered the door but was not up for a chat on morality and didn't buy the watchtower....
I'm sure they'd love to hear all about your new job! lol!
