Mum currently gets DLA HRC and HRM, and does not live in these areas but...house is on the market with intention of moving to Wales/Glos area, so she is setting herself up for PIP assessment then?

    Assuming she's under 65.
Moving is not a change of circumstances with regards DLA - as I understand it.

Only if she needs to report a change in her condition would she have to migrate to PIP early if she moves into one of the affected areas.
Otherwise - it's likely not to be many months before it goes nationwide an it's sometime in 2015 that people with long term awards of DLA begin to be reassessed.

I sent a form off for someone else recorded delivery last wed asking for their dla award to be lengthened as their condition has worsened. Original award ends April 15. They will have received it before the 28th October so will it carry on a dla or will they be asked to claim pip now instead? I was advised that it woud carry on as dla but now not sure about it after reading this thread and the changes re: oct 28 they're in midlands by the way.

Please help as I don't want the person I'm helping to start worrying.

    Thanks

if a condition has worsened they will do a reassessment of the claim under DLA and make a new award
there is no guarantee that they will extend the length of the award

Thank you so much nanny tone, I was worried that they would insist on doing pip now as a change of condition (has worsened considerably last three months and person knows why now as diagnosis) so they 'may' extend dla award but won't insist in doing pip now then seeing as this October date has appeared?

What is the October 28th all about too please?

    Thank you xx

i thought 28th october was the date that PIP was rolling out to reassessments? ( now limited to the listed areas)?

if i am wrong then my previous psot could be wrong.

does the claimant live in wales, the midlands or east anglia?

if tehy do and the PIP start date was earlier than 29th, the request for a reconsideration may well be under PIP.

youre better off waiting for Roger to make an appearance as he knows far more about what's going in

Ok. Earlier in thread it says a date of October 28th?

They live in midlands. Oh really worried for them now as its taken so long to get the dla award sorted and because their condition has worsened, they contacted dla and they were advised to fill in a change of circs form and told their award could be lengthened. They were told it would stay as dla but I now see this October date?

    Please help.... X

ok just found this on pip site
From 28 October 2013 we will start inviting individuals if:
we receive information about a change in care or mobility needs on or after 28 October
their fixed term award is due to expire on or after 17 March 2014
children turn 16 years old on or after 7 October 2013 (unless they have been awarded DLA under the Special Rules for terminally ill people) or
an existing DLA claimant wishes to claim PIP instead of their DLA , Has my condition is not going to get any better and I have a indefinite award looks like I will be reassessed from oct 2015

This is what I mean nanny tone?

I haven't told them of a change in care or mobility needs, I have told them of a diagnosis which has worsened. Basically to keep them updated. Dla decision maker advised me this would not change to pip yet but this new date oct 28th has me worried especially as it only popped up this weekend and I only posted the form back on Wednesday last week!

I would feel dreadful if I put the person concerned through more upheaval of swapping over yet when I told them it wouldn't be like that?

Maybe Roger can help me please? X

they take the date of the claim from the day you informed then that you wanted a reassessment, that was obvioussly prior to 29th october.

a diagnosis means very little in terms of DLA, it is all about care/mobility needs.

So would that be the day they received it recorded delivery nanny tone?

I'm sorry but I'm so useless at this stuff, I have very little knowledge about dla and pip. Sorry to be a nuisance x
