New addition still getting on well, going to pop over the vets in a mo and get her booked in for a check, vaccinnes etc, especially KC one after having Holly so poorly twice with it.

Just took her down the school, everyone was awwwwing at her, all saying they can't believe someone would have dumped her etc. All did comment in how good condition she was aswell. She of course behaved very well :) going to call at the pet shop for some more new toys for the furries, bought them a toy box now so don't mind if I have somewhere for the ones not being played with.

Kdean - with the wood floors, I still use the vacuum cleaner. I find it much more effective and also less 'dusty' as you're not just sweeping stuff into the air.
Pigpen hope you are feeling better. Wow @ the ebaying, wish I could be more ruthless at times I find it hard to part with junk :o
Boston, hopefully it'll be nicer where you are soon, it's VERY hot here at the mo.
Shirley happy new rat day, I nearly ended up with turtles today when we called into the aquatics shop, unfortunately they needed a bigger tank than I have, or is that fortunately!
Nicki another one here who hates the hassle of CRBs, my partners is due to be renewed for the taxi badge (every 3 years) just hoping it's not too delayed or he'll be out of work unpaid! I know they are important, just wish they were a bit more efficient!
One day I might be more organised...........

Well, fell completely off the wagon yesterday & did nothing except shopping & messing bout on the computer, although I did buy myself a mop - does that count???
Feeling extremely tired today & dont know why but tried to make inroads on sons bedroom which I'm pleased about.
Usually i would be beating myself up about what i havent done but today & this week I feel relaxed cos I know I've started to fly & what doesnt get done will come round again next week. My kitchen is still clean from Monday & I smile everytime I put powder in the WM - it's clean because you lot told me to do it !!!!!
Thanks for this thread & everyone that contributes & have a lovely weekend everybody.
The cleaning and scrubbing will wait till tomorrow, For children grow up, as I've learned to my sorrow.
So quiet down, cobwebs. Dust go to sleep. I'm rocking my baby and babies don't keep.

    Afternoon all

Shopping was not hugely successful but the cupboard/freezer are restocked with food. Got a free chair in M&S with the deli stuff I needed for the street party which DS3 is pleased about. Comic for DS2 and cricket bat oil for DS1 so missions completed.

Going to do a couple of the quick bits on the list and get the last lot of bedding out of the WM before tea - promised to do a platter of crakers cheese and fruit followed by pancakes.

    Back latter Dusty x

Pigpen did you take some arnica?
Shirley I saw 2 car crashes just happened today at the same roundabout - one on my way to shops and one on the way back - 2nd looked nasty so it is not just you with the bad luck

lil_me - I use the vacuum cleaner to hoover up the piles but DS is terrified of loud noises so can only use it for a moment, I am already in his bad books for using it today:rolleyes: I know he will get over the fear at some point but he is going to be 3 at the beginning of July and literally runs for cover when I turn it on, so I don't like to upset him more than I have to, he is a very sensitive boy, I hope he grows out of it a bit before school age.

kdean We have lots of wooden and tiled floors. Whilst I do hoover them (my kids are scared of nothing) I do however have an eco mop. It is a flat metal head with 2 removeable heads, one fluff collector and one you use damp for washing, it is great as wooden floors shouldn't be got too wet but this is just like wiping with a damp cloth.

Oh kdean totally understand I have a son who is the same. Now he's a little older he can hide in another room or in the garden while I get it done most times. I have a floor sweeper (those Bissell things) which is ok too, but those damp mops are great too, I have a microfibre one I got from home bargains which gets the dog hairs up great. The kids sometimes even help with that.
jubarnes26 you're doing just fine, buying a mop is definately worth a bonus :) have a great weekend, don't worry you'll get there :) already sounds like you're making some great changes.
liuhut what a great compliment :) bet you felt chuffed

Right been out. Vets booked 4pm next Thursday for full check over and vaccine restart for Megan. Don't want her getting poorly. Must remember to sort worming too when she's been weighed. Downside with rescuing again is don't know what she's had done or when.

:o I spent £30 aswell. £10 on a dog bed and a glasses repair kit (should have been £12 but local shop who always are good to me. £20 in pet shop on toys, treats etc, but that should have been £30 another local shop who do the same. One thing I do really like about shopping locally :)

Tonight I'm sorting the laundry when I am putting the boys to bed, may aswell do it while I am up there. Going to take the dogs out in a mo then get the boy teas made. Oh and need to clean the floors again, dog hair!

Quick question, how long can you really keep makeup once it's opened ? I know various people say something like 2 years, but should you really throw it away after that ? I have lot of old makeup and surely it can't be very moneysaving to throw it away.

I've just thrown away some blusher I bought when I was about 16. I'm 53 (yes, I know REALLY REALLY OLD) and I only threw it away because I hadn't used it for years ... then my DD found it and rescued it. It hasn't done any damage so far. Things didn't have use by dates then!

Just looking across at the 3 suitcases, now the holiday washing is done :j trying to think where on earth I can store them maybe store something in them (we go away once a year and there is 3 suitcases one huge and two small) what does everyone else do with theirs ?
