  • Pure Gym or The Gym Group are supposed to be really good, if you have one near you. Unfortunately, I don't have one near me.

Wii / DVDs are not really an option for me as I will end up waking up the whole house.

I need to find a running buddy, particularly as I have expensive running shoes and clothing gathering dust! It is just so bloody cold to be out there running. I am just up to my usual self, making bleeding excuses when it comes to exercising!!! I just need a real kick up my backside and be dragged (screaming and shouting) to exercise!!

*kicks your backside for you* Can't drag you through this pc unfortunately but stop making excuses and just do it, you never know you might surprise yourself and actually enjoy it!...as for the cold - You'll warm up after a few minutes of running! If you don't collapse first...:rotfl:

  • I am like a little child when it comes to such things!

I have just realised that one of the gyms has opened near waterloo, I must check it out in the new year! £21, 24/7 access and no contract! Can't beat that! All I need to do is find a reasonably priced PT operating there! woohoo!

£21 is absolutely fantastic for 24/7 access NCM! If you feel you will get a lot of use out of that its definitely worth it!! Does their website say anything about personal trainers? I don't think you will need one for very long though. ..once you start to feel in yourself how much better you feel AND look, that will be motivation enough to kick your behind into keeping it up...and all those lovely ladies you will have to beat off with a stick will help too im sure! :D

So, I've been having a bit of an epic fail this week :o
My mum/dad/pup have gone up to see my sister and niece and I've been having to look after myself since they left not much food in the house...well, nothing that looked appetizing, so I have been on a bit of a bingefest of takeaways! :o
Now I am down to £30 in the personal spends account and £70 in my current account until next friday - which isn't *too* disastrous but...not what I was hoping for as now I think next week I might have to *borrow* from the current account...hopefully I can manage on the £30 for the next 8 days if I can stay away from the chicken shop tonight :o
Got my credit card statement today - £73.44 in interest, taking me back up to £2651.22 :( Can't pay anything yet though - waiting for next Friday when I hope to throw another £300 at it!

I seem to have lost momentum already in this debt slashing crusade :(
Still having an epic fail of a week...although payday is on friday and I still have £40 something, I'm not quite sure where the other £60 has gone because I haven't been tracking properly this week :o
I know I spent a good £30 of that on my pup - toys and treats but the other £30 is all just frivolous crap...crap food, coke, magazines etc. I'm still smoking tobacco though so at least I know I haven't wasted any of it on cigs :o and still haven't spent anything on my game!
Also got my final bill from tmob - 34.15 due to come out on 4/1 but they said I might have another final settlement bill, even though I haven't used the sim/phone for over a week now and my number has changed over to giffgaff :/

  • Domayne,

You have done extremely well so far. Keep at it, as you know the debt busting journey will have some good days and some bad days. When you are having bad days it is important to remember all that you have achieved and also that it is a temporary blip.

Things will get better, just keep your chin up and get back on track.

Hi NCM! Thank you for the kind words of encouragement, I hope you have had a lovely Christmas?? xx
I found myself having a bit of a crap week - but it's not as crap as I thought really - Only in MSE standards because I haven't been jotting everything down and watching where every last penny is going :rotfl:
Paid £250 to my CC card this morning taking me to £858.33 paid for December! and £2401.22 left to go! :j :j which is pretty good I'll say! :p
I even ended with £4.92 in my personal spends - Nothing in the current account though but I've had family staying down for the whole week and been going off to the pub - My excuse and I'm sticking to it! :rotfl:
Also my first ISA payment came out today so:
    saved so far - £230 :j

Happy new year to all you MSE'ers!!! I hope you all have a fantastic night tonight whether it's a quiet one at home, with friends/family or you decide to tear up the town!! :j
I will be spending tonight in Hertfordshire with my best friend and her daughter - A nice quiet one which I'm really looking forward too!

I can't believe it's the end of another year - where has it gone eh?! I don't recall a year ever going this quickly...maybe it's true what they say....The older you get, the quicker it goes?!? :rotfl:
I'm actually really looking forward to 2014 though (despite turning 30 this year! ) and usually, I never make NY resolutions because I don't stick to them.
This year however, despite a few ups and downs, I've never felt so much determination in my life to sort it out once and for all!

so here are my resolutions for 2014 -

1 - Finish paying off my credit card and close it down - Estimate I will have this done by the end of march! :T
2 - To continue saving money - and have at least 6k by the end of 2014
3 - To lose weight...I have quite a lot to lose, My ideal weight would be around 9 st 7Ibs...I currently weigh 16st :o However, saying I need to lose 6 stone looks like a HUGE feat and makes me want to give up before I even start, so I'm going to tackle this stone by stone!
4 - Visit the dentist - The last time I went was around 3 years ago and am in dire need of a check up/clean!! :o
5 - Go to the Dr's - I have a SEVERE phobia of the Dr's and haven't been there for quite some time either except this year for a smear as they have been sending me letters for years now and me ignoring them, after my friend having a scare though - felt like it had to be done so I bit the bullet! I found a lump on my neck back in september, for a while I kept dismissing it as a cyst/swollen glands as I've had swollen glands before and the lump feels similar, but for the last month, I've felt like something is in my throat too and it feels quite weird/hard and it's getting hard to swallow so...must go and have that seen too :o
6 - Stop drinking diet coke completely! For the last few months, I have cut this out at work and not been buying any cans/bottles of it, but still have lots of bottles at home - I have realized how bad it is for me though and need to pack it in!
7 - Stop stalking my ex on facebook :o We broke up two years ago, I de-activated my facebook back then, I still stalk him from my sisters account, though it's obvious he has moved on and is happy and by keep on stalking him - I'm only holding myself back from doing the same
8 - Have at least 1 holiday this year! The plan was for 3 - I think I was being rather ambitious here because I need to budget and save for Las Vegas in 2015 which I think will be a rather expensive trip - so 3 this year might be pushing it and being greedy (stupid)!!
9 - To keep up with this diary I feel like it has been rather cathartic writing things down and looking through it to see how I've gotten on and keep the momentum going! I'm never going to win any award for MSE'er of the year because there's a lot of things I WILL NOT do to save money/make money, but I feel like in a short amount of time I've come a long way - even if it's not apparent here at times!
10 -To stop being such a hermit and make time for people in my life. Life is too short to keep saying 'no' to things and who knows when you will get the chance too again!
11 - BUDGET,BUDGET,BUDGET I'm learning this week that there is a reason for these :o

I think, I'll stop at 11 - there's a lot of things I need to do/change, but I don't want to overwhelm myself right now! :rotfl: but I look forward to reviewing at the end of 2014 to see if I managed to stick to any of these!! xD

As for new news - I don't really have any! No new payments to CC, after last weeks pay, there was a lot that I didn't budget for (hence resolution 11 :p ) Now I've found myself left with just £40 until Jan 10th! It's ok though, I won't be smoking and apart from a pizza date with a friend on Sunday, I won't be going out other than that!! See you all in the new year :heart2:
