  • A bit annoying being stood up but I guess it is money saved!

I am pleased to note that you have been considering giving up on the game. Is there any way you can "sell" your profile?

Hi NCM! I wasn't really looking forward to it tbh - this is the 'friend' I was telling you about on your thread, the one that disappeared for 10 years then came back, wants to go on holiday but I feel like she takes any opportunity to make me feel bad about my life/other friends and rub it in how 'perfect' her life is and I guess I should just...cut my losses? I'm starting to feel like friends are over rated since the ones I DO have either just cost me money or cause me untold amounts of anxiety :rotfl:
As for the game - Not really :( I'm sure I could do it away from the game somehow, like on the black market...if I could find it :D but I don't know if I'm quite ready for that yet...I haven't spent money there since some time in November and haven't logged in this weekend but I'm not sure I can let go completely yet :o

  • Doesn't sound like much of a friend to me but only you can decide if "cutting your loss" is the right approach. I personally wouldn't be happy to be used as a "back up" or taken for granted but that is me.

As for your game, I totally understand how you feel about it. So long as you are not spending any money, I guess keeping the profile till you are ready to break your ties with it, as it is not doing any harm.

I am not sure if this is promotion or not but I have heard great things about meetup, particularly in London. I hear it is a great way to go out and meet new people. There are various meetups to meet all budgets, ranging from free such as running club to inexpensive ones.

I was looking at a craft website earlier and thinking of giving candle making a go in the new year :D I like candles, It seems relatively cheap and looks quite fun! I did mention I would try crafting somewhere on this board but so far I haven't....I've been getting way too much into this MSE thing and keep playing with numbers in any spare time I have....How sad? lol
This month looks really good though - despite being December! By the end I estimate I will have paid off over £800! :j
That meetup sounds like something I should try since my social circle is VERY small and despite how much of a pompous !!! this one that stood me up is, she IS right about my other friends but I'm in a weird head space at the moment and I'm not sure I'd be very good company for new people lol :/ Have you tried the meetup before?

  • Candle making sounds fun. I am rubbish at crafty things.

Your debts are coming down at the rate of knots.

I haven't tried it yet but I will be trying it in the New Year. Some meet up require a lot interaction with other people, other meetups don't - I am sure I saw somewhere that there is one dedicated to comedy (free evenings). In some ways what better way to get your head straight than to spend time with new people and be back socialising and laughing again? The more you dwell about debts / lack of social life, the more depressing it will be and the worse your head will be.

Your right - It is kind of wallowing about lack of a social life that's making me even more depressed, but then so is my weight, so is my debts...and I feel like I need to work on those things first :/ People make me seriously nervous...but I'm also unlucky that I have quite a serious face and just look more like a miserable !!! than someone who is nervous xD
I'll let you be the guinea pig with the meetup...if it goes well then I'll try it :rotfl:

  • LOL! Thanks! I will report back when I have been.

I need to work on my weight/getting in to shape, debt, driving, socialising as well.

I have never experienced the kind of impatience that I am currently feeling right now, it can't be healthy... I am also wishing time away which can't be healthy at all.

Well your in good (depending on how you look at it :p) company! I'm also wishing my life away! Waiting til my debt is gone, waiting til I lose weight to do anything else with my life...I've made huge waves in my debts since I started my diary I think and my bulb is getting brighter and brighter but...I haven't done a single thing about my weight yet :o I need to stop smoking as well and just feel overwhelmed with all these things that I 'need' to do and I fear I'm turning slightly OCD...
Have you looked into booking any driving lessons yet/finding a personal trainer?!

  • I am the same, I have so many things I need to do/tackle yet the only concrete step I have taken is to fight the debt.

I have vague inclination to towards a driving instructor but have not booked anything - can't afford it! I will book something towards the end of Feb.

As for PT, I can't seem to be able to find 1) a decent priced gym and 2) a reasonably priced PT. Might leave that in the background for now, not too sure if that is a wise move. I am making some changes to my diet to ensure that I am not eating crap!

Yeah, personal trainers seem to be quite expensive - even for just one hour! and it's hard to find a decent priced gym...easygym is quite cheap but lack quite a lot of facilities and were always really busy when I went and I had to sit around waiting for a machine I wanted to use which was...annoying! I'm thinking in the new year I'm going to get back to doing my dvd's at home, I have LOADS of them!...and finding the motivation from...somewhere? haven't figured out where yet but I either have to wake up at around 4.30am and do it or do it when I come home at 7.30pm and I'm not sure which prospect is worse! ha!
Do you have something like a wii you can use at home? It doesn't really feel like your doing exercise when your doing it and you can see how many calories you've burnt/how far you've come/your 'age' fitness wise etc...I bought my dad one a few years ago, he never used it but I did for a while...then he gave it away!
Or seeing if a friend is up for a 'running buddy' so you can keep each other motivated..?
