windscreen steaming up
everytime it rains and im out driving the windscreen steams up, even if i have the window open a bit, the only way to get rid of it is to have the air con on, but a few mins after it stops raining no steamy window
My dad said it might be damp inside - rain leaking in, so i checked the carpets and they are all dry
1. i had a new windscreen fitted in june
2. a i cleaned my passenger seat in july - with a foam cleaner
3 its a peugeot 207 2006 reg - yes i know
any ideas?

Any ideas? Yes it's called condensation and every car in the land suffers from it.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0

When did you last change the pollen filter?
Just run the air-con more often.
I never switch mine off.0 -
Condensation always get worse this time of year because of the amount of moisture in the air.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0

Check pollen filter, remove unless you have a severe allergy and then make sure the heater is not set to re-circulate or the re-circulation flap is stuck.Be happy...;)0

Condensation has got to be cold and wet. All you can do is drive with the window open until the heater warms up.
Keep your windscreen clean and as dry as possible.

+1 for leave the air con on.
Mine mists up quicker than you can say "misting up" with the aircon off, whether on recirculate or fresh air.
No problem with it on.
I actually run on recirculate all the time rather than breathe the filthy smoke that diesel cars, vans and buses belch out with no problems, even today.I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

Check the recirculation flap is opening. If it's closed (not letting fresh air in) then it will continue to pump around damp air from inside the car.
Also clear the scuttle of any damp leaves etc. Take the scuttle off and clear out any sludge under it (scuttle is the plastic where the wiper arms are). Also clear the drains there (each side) so that water can drain away without sitting there. The blower motor ususally sucks air in from here so any damp goes straight into the cabin.
Also find the blower motor and clean it out of any crap.
Finally to dry the air out when the car isn't in use, put some salt or charcoal somewhere in the cabin. Damp air is drawn to it like rats to a sewer. Charcoal goes mouldy though so you can't use it for long.0
