Out of these three cars, which would you be leaning toward?

Very true! And I should have said Mazda 2 (not 3) as that is what was posted above.0 -
I'm wondering if this 'dealer' is more interested in selling finance than cars.
Seems odd to shortlist used cars based purely on a £4k limit.
£500 limit I completely understand but £4k is enough to be picky.0 -
For all that (basic) 'Yotas are boring, I'd rather cut off my nads with a rusty blade than drive around in a bloody Coarser.
C4s seem very cheap, but they seem to be cheap for a reason -- build quality is suspect.
My advice would be to decide what size you want, then buy either a Ford, Skoda or Japanese in the chosen size. Model not especially important.
Would agree that, out of the three mentioned, the Avensis wins.0 -

to be fair, there is an s on the end of dealer, in the first post. 'they are all from dealers', so I'm guessing they're not from the same place.0 -

Seems even stranger to have such an apparently random mix, then.0 -

I'm even more bewildered then. How have those there ended up on a shortlist together?0 -

Funny you should say that, but I've just been looking at a 58 plate Mondeo Diesel.
It looks nice (haven't had a chance to look it over yet, as the dealership was closed), but it's priced at £5,000, which is my absolute top limit, including Insurance and VEL.0 -
Beware the engine!
The Mondeo diesel can have a lot of issues in certain guises.
I'd still go 1.8 Avensis over a diesel Mondeo. Will still get 40mpg but no DMF etc to worry about. Ok it will not win the traffic light GP but if you just want to get from A to B in comfort you won't go far wrong. What if there was no such thing as a rhetorical question?0
