Out of these three cars, which would you be leaning toward?

All are petrol, all are from dealers, and all the same screen price - £3,995.

55 plate Avensis.

58 plate Corsa.

58 plate C4.

I think you need to work out what your going to use the car for. Not only are they projected at different markets, but they all have their own foibles. Price and plate are meaningless if you find you can't get your granny in the Corsa or you find the Avensis so stupefying you end up in the ditch on a long commute.

It would depend on your requirements, but I'd probably choose the Avensis.

C4 is too big for my liking and The corsa may well have done several laps of Morrisons car park.
    1. Have you tried to Google the answer?
    2. If you were in the other person's shoes, how would you react?
    3. Do you want a quick answer or better understanding?

There another option, but for a different price.

That's an 06 Focus (also petrol), for just under £4,000.

    £3995 = £4000 - £5

That's also just under in my book.

As colino said, you need to be a little clearer about what you are looking for in a car. A Corsa and an Avensis are not two comparable cars.

For most people factors like performance, fuel economy, insurance costs, reliability etc are all factors. These will vary with engine so merely giving us the age and model doesn't give anyone the full picture to comment.

What engine is in the Avensis? The 1.8 at least is a chain cam so no belts to worry about and does a good 40mpg but do you need a car that size?

Are the others smaller? What tax bracket are they in etc etc.

That said, Avensis for me. All those taxi drivers can't be that far wrong.
What if there was no such thing as a rhetorical question?
