Yes, sorry about that Cheddar. Quidco is for new customers, but I'm planning on taking out a new contract with 3 (via Quidco and Recommend a Friend), as it works out cheaper, than upgrading directly. I argued with 3 about their upgrade deals especially after the guy kept saying that I'm a "valued 3 customer who has never defaulted a bill in 2years" but was a waste of time. They were offering me the N95 for £199.99 with same line rental £30 for 500mins and 100texts.... I explained why it was cheaper online for new contract, and he started back-tracking on his word, and reduced the phone to £79.99 and offered me £25 credit on my account if I took a 18month contract.

I was on the 3 website whilst trying to negotiate a deal, comparing what he was offering to what was being offered for new customers, and he couldn't match it! Pathetic! I do know that the online price for N95 changes tomorrow night though, and HOPE it drops in price, rather than increases.

As I want to keep my same number, I'll port my number onto another network payg (7day delay) and then port it back onto my new 3 contract (7 day porting delay again), go via Quidco (£80 cashback for the £28Talker tariff), and a further £30x2 (£60 for Recommend a Friend), so its a bargain!

Hope that clarifies the issue. Will keep you posted how I get on, cuz I'm keeping a close eye on the N95 deals out there.

Just had a look at the 3 website now, and the offer is STILL the same (only thing they've changed is "This offer is available until 30th September 2007"... It's a really bad deal, and I'm sure they will change this deal sometime soon, but I cannot afford to be waiting around for them to change.

Gonna have to bite the bullet, and just buy it at £99.99, go through Quidco and Recommend a Friend, to get some money back, and also I'll get a free promotional bluetooth code directly from 3 (just for the added freebie). It'll work out at about £23.50 per month over 18months - if all goes according to plan!

Wouldn't touch the N95 with a bargepole, utterly dire battery life.

What network are you on, and approximately how long does your battery last (talktime, and standby, or approx mix of both)?

O2, I went to the football a few weeks ago, charged it the night before, battery was dead come 8pm the next day, after texting, a few calls and a few pictures, disgusted!

That's is interesting to know... does anyone know if I order a new N95 from Three if it'll be one of the phones from this new batch then? Or will they try to fob me off with one of the older ones?

The new version has still not been approved by the networks, so you will get the old version. Even, when It's approved, you will get the choice of the 2 versions. So you will have to decide which one to pay for.

Glad didn't rush to buy the N95 but I have the same problem now, whether to rush to buy the N95 8gb :D ?
  • I know... it's a nightmare isn't it?! I may just wait for another month or two to see how things are panning out with 3 then.

I really want the N95, but I know I'll regret getting one now if I could have got a matching deal with the 8GB version 2 months later! :)

  • deals on the N95 don't seem that great at the moment. From reading back on this thread it actually seems like there were better deals out there when it was first introduced a few months ago!

I'm currently on 3, but renewal is due. I'm looking for at least 400 mins and 100 texts, a free phone and most importantly - a 12 month contract.

I dont really care which network.

Seems to be most deals are 18 month only these days, which is annoying as phones always seem pretty shot after a year

I was hoping to find a deal around the £30 a month mark ideally.. anyone got any ideas?

Anyone recently upgraded on three? If i call up the cancellation line whats a reasonable deal to push for?
