Nokia N95 - best deals?

  • I called Vodafone last week and called 4 times in a span of 10 minutes and spoke to 4 different agents and the final call got me a decent deal on a 12 month contract. and I had to pay only £30 for N95. The deal is 600 minutes 250 text on £35/m. I did think £35 is bit steep but looking at my previous 6 month bill with my previous network I was always touching £35 and the phone is just great.

only £30? Isn't it usually free on £35/m tariffs?

N95 has arrived at 3 at the moment which is brilliant news as of course it is cheap LOL

    750 anytime any network mins
    150 texts

18 month contract ...a 3 locked n95 with 512 memory card and if you talk to those sales assistants they give you a promo code for a free bluetooth headset....

All this at 28 quid a month but the phone is 49.99

However if you go through quidco u get £80 soooo....u can use that towards the phone fee and also u can pay off your first line rental...

This is a very attractive offer on the n95 ....the closest other networks can get is ....700 mins 100 txt 150 landline mins ....£35 quid phone is £50 u can go to phones4u an they will discount the phone to free ....

what do u guys think of the 3 deal....apart from the phone being locked ...

I've been looking at this deal and thought it was OK before realising there was a Quidco cashback ... thanks for the heads up. The £80 will cover 16 months of x-series silver which allows you to use Skype and Fring and unlimited, walled garden web access. Very tempted.

Edit: Are you sure about the £80 ... no mention of N95 on the Quidco site?

I've ordered through Quidco and cashback on N95 at three has tracked already at £55 not £80, I also used refer a friend to get a further £30 credit. I'll have to cancel my previous telephone order.

Thanks for the information. I ordered and the Quidco has tracked at £55. Good deal.

  • I called for a upgrade this morning and after talking to a useless employee I was passed over to a lovely woman who said I could get this plan:

    handset N95 for £70

what do u guys think ?

I've been with o2 for over 8 years. In the last year, I was on a very low tariff (o2 25, 25 minutes and texts, paying around £18 a month), I wasn't using my phone much, as I was using my work phone mostly. I've been out of my contract for about 5-6 months now, just been lazy and didn't really want any new phone, until the N95 came.

I just phoned to see what they could do, and after speaking to the customer services guy (whose best deal was phone free, on a £50 a month tariff for 18 months = £900!!!), I was then put through to cancellations/retentions, and spoke to a lady, who wouldn't budge one milimeter either. Nothing helped, she just kept repeating because I was on a low tariff for the last 12 months, best deal she could offer me was what the first guy said, or £35 a month for 18 months and £90 for the phone, again working out to over £700 for the whole deal.

She said those were the deals offered to new customers, and because of my low spend, blah, blah, I couldn't get any better deal. I remained polite and patient throughout this conversation, and pointed out to her that as we were speaking, I was looking at a £30 a month and a free N95 deal, from o2 (on onecompare.com). She then got uncomfortable, and started asking me stupid questions like, is that for an N95 (doh - I'm not talking about any other phone). Anyway, she simply woudn't budge. I was genuine when I was telling her I don't want to leave o2 after such a long time and that I'd prefer not to have to go through that hassle and would even't accept only a "good" deal as opposed to an excellent one, but the "deals" she was offering me were laughable, and she actually said, after I asked her "the fact I spent thousands of pounds with you in the last 8 or so years doesn't matter, and customer loyalty doesn't matter, all because I was on a low tariff in the last 12 months?" - her words were "no, customer loyalty doesn't matter, i mean, we're happy you're our customer, blah, blah... ". at this point, i said them being "happy" about me being their customer doesn't really do anything for me, and asked for my PAC code.

It's actually so unbelievable, I'm not really that upset either, it's kind of amusing, in an idiotic kind of way.

Let's see now, who do I go with... ?
  • I'm after a new N95 too. I'm with T-mobile at the moment on an 18-month deal which is about to expire. Having just spent 45 minutes in a queue to speak to their "loyalty department" (and still not getting through) I don't have a lot of appetite to remain there and the online deals they're offering are rubbish.

Had a quick look around and this deal through www.mobileshop.com looks OK.

    N95 - Free
Minutes - 400 anytime cross network per month
SMS - 500 free per month
    18-month contract - £30 per month

I have challenged t-mobile (via a snotty, but polite e-mail as they're not answering the phone) to beat the deal but I'm not holding my breath!

Anyone done anything better in August yet?
