If I didn't have such a good deal I would have cancelled the contract due to a very poor customer service as well.
I will wait 72 hours for my call back and make sure everything is as it should be, if not then I will cancel.
Ps is it 14 days or 1 month that you can cancel?
Exactly the same for me. Such a great deal it would be near enough impossible to get me to cancel but their customer service is terrible it is beyond belief and they really are pushing it. I've been on the phone to about 2/300 people in the past 2 days for a total of something nearing 10 hours and I've got nowhere! and depending on who you speak to you get completely different information.
Its 14 days from the start of the contract.0 -

I called into the O2 shop today and was offered the following deal:
N95 for £49.99
£40 per month contract - 600 mins and 500 texts
£50 credit back onto account (not having to apply for cashback)
free bluetooth and 12 month contract only
I got this in writing as nowhere did I see a 12 month contract with O2.
How does this sound?0 -

https://www.n95users.com is a good forum for N95'ers. Just joined myself and they've been helpful. (Hope I'm allowed to post this link, its not an ad).0 -
I phoned Vodafone twice today. First time I decided to try different tact from the 15-month half-price deal and so went for the 12-month contract gambit, using the deal on the previous page of this thread that honestdave said he got:Nokia N95 for £50
12 month contract, 6 months half price, 200 mins / 250 text a month.
That's 50+(6x13.50)+(6x27)= £293.
Well. The cretin that answered my call was the most ignorant and unhelpful of anyone I've had to deal with over the past few days as I've been looking for a deal. Some of the others have been been curt and uninterested in entering into any sort of conversation, yes, but I never felt insulted or annoyed (just doing their jobs to get the max money out of me) but this guy...
For a start, he was inarticulate and borderline incoherent and unintelligible. But even worse than that he told me outright lies about the N95, its functions and the costs. Apparently using the GPS to plot a 2-mile journey is going to cost me £9!
Like I said, there is a difference between an assistant being civil and simply refusing to get involved in a discussion about improving a deal and someone being rude ignorant, unhelpful, insulting and downright deceptive.
So, anyway, that call didn't last long.
It was so unhelpful and annoying that I called back almost immediately to try to at least get a more positive experience.
A woman answered and was much more pleasant, though still quite strict (not that there's anything wrong with that).
I reverted to the "a friend got the 15-month half-price/freehandset deal" approach but she was having none of it, but in a pleasant, civil way.
So she goes straight away to the £50 handset/6-months@£13.50+12months @£27 (usually they start at £100). I hum and haw and say well, it's not what I am looking for but it's not a BAD tariff... can you do the handset free on that?
No. So I change tack and ask well, what extras come with that (knowing full well) and when she mentions the 512MB memory card I ask if she could maybe give me a 1GB as a sweetener. At first she said she didn't think so cos it might be a special format of card but I told her it wasn't and she said give me a minute and put me on hold for a few seconds.
When she came back she said she'd checked with her superviser and they didn't have any 1GB cards to give out... but then said instead of that, she'd waive the £50 handset charge.
Mentally, I'd resolved to accept the tariff if I could get the handset down to free, since I don't think the 15-month half-price is coming back anytime soon. SO I hummed and hawed again and asked for a Bluetooth headset and she offered one as "cost price" (£12.50 - she said it sells for £25).
So, to cut a long story slightly less long, I went for the deal.
It works out at an average of £22.50 per month (300 minutes+100texts - or you can choose 200 minutes+500 (I think) texts) over the 18months so I think it's a good deal - though not the GREAT deal some of you got last week.
In retrospect, I wish I'd seen this thread a week earlier. Also, Isuspect that end-of month targets may have played a part in that excellent deal (and perhaps a push to offload some returned/refurbished handsets) - so anyone interested in pursuing the deal (and not in a rush as I was to get a new phone before a holiday) may want to wait a few weeks and try at the end of this month.
Thanks for everyone's input to this great thread and good luck if you're still looking for a deal. Keep at it, be polite and persevere and and you should be able to at least get a free handset.0 -

That must have been exactly the same guy I spoke to around 2/3 weeks ago when I first starting ringing around. I put it down to him not having a clue what he was on about and just hung up but either its the same guy and he still doesn't have a clue or like you say he is being deceptive. After reading you having the same experience then I suspect the latter because he tried after saying "Sir it will cost you £9 for a 2mile journey" to offer me a crappier phone, which no doubt they have better margins on!
I've been with VF for 6 days now and its without a doubt the worst company for customer service I have ever encountered, and I've had some bad ones such as AOL.
Not a good start :mad:0
