You can tell a lot about a woman by her hands..........for instance, if they are placed around your throat, she's probably slightly upset. ;)

mum rang DLA to find out when payment will be made, only to be told the pension credit who pays her the weekly combined pension/dla(mobility) have queried the date 10/04/03. they are currently looking in to this and will get back, no time scale.

what do you guys think? was it to good to be true!!:(

  • Sit tight and be patient - I think it'll work itself out in the end.
    Thinking critically since 1996....
  • Did you apply for backdating, or make a complaint of maladministration? This is very unusual, but more likely if either of the described circumstances applies.

    Hi Jacques

mum didn't do neither of the above, when applied for care part of the disabilty in aug 2013, the decision came back to say the ward given in 2003 was still the same. It was then identified by me that the two awards stated was high rate for mobility and low for both dated 10/04/2003. Mum has been recieving the mobility but never recieved the care money.

I shall wait for mum to get letter in the post and see if they made an error in thier original letter posted on the 17th October 2013, then take it from there.

5 weeks later and still nothing, DLA advised another 3 weeks, what a crap service.

If I was a suspicious person, ;) I would think that the DWP might have realised that there was going to be an awful lot of back pay, and that perhaps they should look at this more closely. But that couldn't happen - could it?

I also might consider phoning and saying that as "calls are recorded for training purposes", that it should be easy for them to trace that this money was promised several weeks ago, and it's causing needless distress to your Mum.

    xx
