Hello everyone. It's a horrible wet day today. I've just spent about half an hour adding up all my receipts since I last posted. It would take me too long to post them all on here!! I've updated my signature & I'm way, way over. But I've had DS's birthday to cater for as well as all the stuff for Christmas.
Have been keeping up with everyone's posts. Big well done to those who came in under budget. Maybe I'll do better next year after a full year of the GC. I'm on here until 29th. Hopefully not too many spends until then.
A very merry Christmas to all GC people. :j

I think you have done very well to fund a birthday and Christmas from the grocery budget, I have separate budgets for these.Slimming World at target0 -
Our big shop added up to £64.32, £20 more than I had hoped for but the ys were too tempting. I got a huge gammon joint for just £4, it is 2.5kg. I also got a beef joint from £12 to just £2.99.
I might check the ys tomorrow at around 3pm as I have budget left available and I get paid on Friday. My signature has been updated.
My gammon has had it's first coating of honey glaze and is back in the fridge for an hour before I reglaze it. I have just made one of the stuffings, a sausage meat and sage and onion stuffing. It smells and looks lovely:)
Do you think I could prepare the veg today and leave them in pans of water? I'm working late tomorrow so I want as much prepared as I can.£36/£240

I have all the food for Christmas and enough to last until the 31st (pay day) so I think I will declare now. £173.23 spend for December £26.77 under budget. Whoop Whoop!
Have so much food in the freezer and cupboards that I think I can significantly reduce next months budget. Although will have to do a stock take but feeling quite optimistic about January. Will stay on this thread until GC Jan is up and running. That voice in your head that says you can’t do this is a LIAR!

Got away early from work unexpectedly :j so used that time to catch up on my receipts too as weather is horrible looking at the family budget makes more sense....
I have updated my signature and am still within budget for most things except my takeaways which is to be expected this month. Only 1 week left for me to go so looks like I will be on track this month...:T
Merry Christmas everyone have a lovely time.:beer:0 -

When I've needed to prep the veggies in advance, I've put them in plastic bags, sucked the air out, sealed them and popped them in the salad crisper - they've been fine and take up less room than in water. I've never done spuds in advance though as they can go a bit manky.

Spend of £15.32 today but £5.32 - Mr F got £10 for some records I sorted out. A local record shop looked through them and wanted some.
