  • Hi All, I have now been paid but I have set aside the food budget for next month and I am hoping not to touch it until after Christmas.

I am aiming to eat out of the freezer and cupboards between now and then. I do have to take up a Gammon joint to my mum's on Christmas day and then something to my in-laws on boxing day. Other than that no food being bought until 27th Dec.

I hope everyone else is doing well. I love being on these boards. They keep me sane, having like minded people to 'talk' to.

    A few spends ...

    £6.77 B and M on a mix of bits.

Spends in Asda (will update once i find the whereabouts of the receipt), can only find £1.00 for Smartprice crackers but not included as not food.I don't normally get them, as my DD can literally pull them in two milliseconds; but i understand its nice if you are having family round to indulge in nice ones. These do for her though.

£2.30 in the C*-*p today, was £3.00 before coupon. Then £9.77 in Mr M; this included two OH so meaty cat food as Zooplus delayed, a 6 pack of Plenty for 2.82 and a few treats.

£14.89 plus whatever the total was in Asd*, i think £20 ish as i remember getting ££40 cashback and it coming to £60 something.

Have a few spends to declare, haven't really been on lately!

£5.46 in Li*l, went in to get the soup maker that was on offer but they didn't have it, still got a few bits though. DH went to Mr S the same day to get biscuits and chocs for work, don't know the specific spend but he said it was 'about £30' (he used his account rather than the joint one so can't check!)

Had an impromptu day of annual leave this week, decided to buy us a treat meal of lamb steaks and a couple of other bits in Mr A, came to £8.

My best recent shop was very unexpected and unplanned - went for a mooch around a local retail park this evening and got to Mr S at the right time for reductions-spent £6.75, got a loaf of bread (full price!) Then a small whole chicken, a bag of 7 chicken breasts, a basted chicken breast thing, and 2 small packs of lamb mince. So pleased! Not quite sure when we'll eat it all as we should be moving soon (awaiting completion date!) But will certainly be a treat!

Does that mean I can claim to be sane ? :rotfl:

I had another NSD today and we had HM soup (freezer mix) and tuna salad with baguette :D

Have decided to go to SMs Sunday evening as think it should be quiet then and just need some milk and salad to see me through.

Hope you all have a good day

Okay so I was tired and having a 'flap' last night. Regrouping my head here... Yes, yesterday was a LOT of money for the fact it felt like it was a christmas shop and not a weekly one but we got a fair bit of 'big price' stuff. These were the main offenders:

Nappies (these seemed to have nearly doubled in price looking at the reciept???)
2 x christmas biscuits (on offer - will keep one for some time in the new year)
Crisps, grapes and sarniea for the cinema last night
Pastry and decent sauasage meat to make sausage rolls/pin wheels
Ingredients to make cheese cake for Christmas day (wow, about £6 so far!)
Lager for our neighbour for fixing the kids room rads
Fizzy drinks for everyone round over Christmas (we don't normally get these in)
Top up of quuie a few herbs
Pot of parmesan for stuffing mix
    Yule log for christmas day
Dessert to take to a friend's today in exchange for the kids seeing santa and getting a roast - yum
Bacon for the brussel sprouts and some for Christmas day breakfast (to feed 8)

Other odds and sods but these were the main offenders of things outside of our usual shop

Coooooorrr.... we did buy a lot yesterday

Off to my brothers in Birmingham for Roast lunch and to offload the 5 joints of beef currently taking any spare space in freezer, DD will take pork beef and turket crown when we return, so think at long last will have an empty drawer in upright freezer. Will have a big sort out on Monday and make a proper list of what I have in. and then plan for January.

  • ^^^ I'm the Same, have No idea what is in my freezer at the moment.

Just popping on to say I got one of those gammon in a glaze things that comes in a foil container for 50p up co op this morning! Only went in for milk, but couldn't resist for that price. Will do gammon sandwiches for the boys in work on Christmas Eve.
