Hi All!
Good to see people coming in under budget.
Anyone got any ideas of Christmas day breakfast. It is just OH and me but will be driving later so no alcohol please.
I was thinking maybe American style pancakes?
I agree BlueMoo -fantastic so many managing it with it being December.
There are just two of us also and we usually have scrambled eggs with some chopped smoked salmon through it on hot toast - well it is Christmas
Did SMs today and wasn't very busy at all. Has everybody got their shopping or is the manic rush still to come :rotfl:
Went to Morrys (£7.03) Al*i (£4.15) Poundl*nd (£6.00) and Mr T (£22.37) but included a whole leg lamb for £12.36 :j
I will have to get salad and milk - probably late Sunday evening and turkey crown will be delivered Monday.
Hope you all have a good Friday

Spend last night in Sainsbugs:
£44.61
-£12.50 coupons
______
£32.11
-£8.00 Christmas gifts (different budget)
______
£24.11
-£11.00 because I picked up the wrong size of dress and it needs to go back (!)
______
£13.11 spent
I can't believe I picked up the wrong size. The hanger said 12, it was in the 12 section (and the only one too annoyingly) and it turned out to be a 22 when I got homeIt was meant to be for my work night out tonight as well, so I'm pretty annoyed with myself.
Pleased with the low spend from the grocery budget though. I got a load of tinned tomatoes as they have the KTC ones on three for £1 and I like having a good stock of tinned tomatoes in. Mr Mooo thinks it's hilarious but we go through a LOT of them between chillis, pasta sauces and minestrone soup.0 -
All done for me until xmas eve when I shall have a mooch for reductions. I have been trying to get in the post office to get my warm home discount out on my key but everytime I go its packed out so think I will leave this now till after xmas. Its really annoying, all year I can top up at the local shop but this discount can only be got at the post office.
DGS2 staying tonight and has requested Chinese takeaway, rare treat for us so looking forward to it.
Have got in a bit of a muddle as to what was grocery budget and what was xmas fund, but as theres plenty left over I think I shall just declare all of the grocery money spent, so declaring for December at £100.Slimming World at target0 -
Heard a great money saving tip that I thought I would share with you all.
Cut out the designs from the front of used christmas cards for use as gift tags for next year. No one ever writes on the left hand side. That voice in your head that says you can’t do this is a LIAR!

Thanks for the suggestions for the potatoes, I will be doing that today.
My hubby has also given me my slow cooker early (xmas prezzie) since he had his early too, and I knew about it...so I am using it for the first time today...going to make meatballs and sauce...yummy.
Planning so many meals.....whats your favorite thing to do in your slow cooker?
Going to visit the slow cooker thread later on too see what recipes I can get over there too....simple pleasures :rotfl:

Well DH and I make it around Mr T without major incident, although I did have to bite my lip when he insisted on putting all the heavy stuff in the same bags rather than spreading it out. I don't think he has done a big shop for several years, but somehow he knows lots more about it than me - after all, I only go food shopping twice a week so what do I know? Still, season of good will and all that I let him get on with it and let him carry all the bags!
Large spend of over a hundred pounds reduced to £71.07 with vouchers, and then £16.25 In Mr S for the turkey crown but that does include food for us and my parents on Christmas Day and for Christmas dinner and tea for 10 on Boxing Day - I only have veg to get on Christmas Eve.
The engineer has just finished mending my cooker. Despite telling them exactly what was wrong over the phone they still managed to turn up last week without the parts. I'm hoping it is all working well, or Christmas dinner could interesting!May spend - £291.40/£320.00
June spend - £106.40/£320.000 -

Afraid to say I have come in overbudget at 109.87 (4.87 over)
Not too worried as it's Christmas and got some treats
Pretty much all set to go for Christmas now. Just need to bake one more cake and I should be done.
*******
No takeaway last night. Though was very very very tempted. Managed to resist, knowing I would have to confess here!

Last Day of work as am taking my holiday time, so have treated myself to box of choccies which I have already munched through!
*****
I have decided on American pancakes with Nutella/Bacon and Egg sandwich/Fresh Juice for Crimbo breakfast. Thanks for all the suggestions.
