    NSD for me.

Had delicious dinner of highland fillet steak with homemade chips and broccoli served with a buerre noisette sauce.

Then sat down to watch Masterchef: The Professionals which made me hungry again!!

Have now planned my dinner party menu for next week, so no need to go shopping until next Tues.

Evening all, Mr Shortie popped to the shops yesterday for squash and came out £15 odd lighter - sigh.. it's all stuff we'll use, just feels slightly uncontrolled lol.

He also grabbed a sack of spuds for £6 which will be last the month. Sig updated

You are not alone. I too have this issue with the DH, although he tends to come out with crisps, chocolate, sandwiches and beer, alongside the pint of milk I asked him to collect. I have already banned him from the big food shops as he ends up filling the trolley up with masses of junk, not good for the budget. I quite enjoy solitary food shopping much less stressful. :D

Can I set my budget at 400please.
I went to the charity shops before for a mooch and bought a gorgeous stripy cardie for my daughter that was £4 instead of £30 in the christmas markets last night! I couldnt believe it was the same one, so pleased..
I then went to local shop and got 4 muller yogs for 5p each!
Off to see the Cola van with my grandson later.. Holidays are coming !

Wow great bargain on the cardi, no wonder you are pleased. The charity shop mooch is my favourite day out.

  • December starts tomorrow for me, can't wait! I did my food stocktake this morning, writing a shopping list just now. Since I'm on a diet and we dont 'do' guests at Christmas, I'm not expecting to spend that much more this month, the increase in my budget is mainly because January may be a short month as the hotel I work at is usually closed for most of the month and I'm not sure how much holiday pay I will get.

Today was pay day which means I have started on December grocery budget! Shouldn't need anything til Sunday when I will need to buy packed lunch things - I've managed this week by literally scraping snacks and things together to throw in the lunch boxes! Determined!

Did quite a big shop when I had a silly moment about a week ago and went way over my November budget - have eaten out a few times since then (from a different budget) and had a few takeaways so we definitely have plenty. I keep buying things that I don't know what to make into though!! I have 4 giant Mushrooms that need using tomorrow! Any ideas? Making a Bolognese tomorrow in the slow cooker too which will do us for tea and maybe some left over to freeze but we will see! Need to organise I food plan - but have way too much in the freezer and cupboards that I am spoilt for choice for what to put with what! How do people manage these meal planners? Got loads of potatoes, new potatoes, jacket potatoes, frozen chips, bread, cous cous, chicken, frozen diced beef, frozen fish, eggs, ham, veg etc. Then in the cupboards we have an endless amount of sauces and the Maggi 'so juicy' packets, gravies, Schwartz packets, tuna, every kind of pasta you could think of, pesto, pasta sauces! Spoilt for choice?! Its ridiculous really how much food we have in the cupboards and fridge and freezer and we need to use it all up - we could feed the 5000 if they turned up at our door!!

    Spend of £3 today.
Found 2 peppered steaklets in Freezer - fetched home by Mr F - not something I would buy. Had them with HM wedges + roasted red onion, white onion & tomatoes.
