Could I please join. Its my first attempt at budgetting so I'm going to put down £300 which is alot as its just me and the cat but I've not actually done a proper shop in about 4 months so I tend to buy what I need on the day. Going to keep all the receipts and see how much I do actually spend.Sealed pot challenge - #1580

Evening all, Mr Shortie popped to the shops yesterday for squash and came out £15 odd lighter - sigh.. it's all stuff we'll use, just feels slightly uncontrolled lol.
He also grabbed a sack of spuds for £6 which will be last the month. Sig updatedApril 2021 Grocery Challenge 34.29 / 2500 -
First spends of the December challenge...£33.00 on dog food! And £3.17 on stock cubes, noodles and some instant mash.
We have a tiny shih-tzu though and the dog food will actually last 5.5 months (so in to the beginning of my maternity leave and up to when it should next be on offer). I bought 6 bags on 2 for £11 - bf is adamant he will give me something towards it but as December has a bigger budget anyway I'm trying to ignore him for now haha
Shouldn't need anything until next week and even then we won't buy too much as we are having a weekend away in a couple of weeks :-) I am trying to just work through what we have in the freezer etc this month so we can stock it fresh in the new year :-)
Bf is only away 3days this month with GB so that's not too bad. I can only see a few 'freezer meals' (mini pizza and oven chips for example) as most will also use fresh/cupboard supplies. Not a bad thing to eat a bit more basic though with it being Christmas as there will be more than enough rich food about its nice to eat a bit more simply at home************************************

Hi all
Just wanted to put my first spend in - £47.38 in Ald1 and I will need a top up of milk, bread & fruit but no veg. So should be a small spend tonight.
Also I asked mam to get me a large bag of the cheap pasta and a few other things in tesco which came to just under £10 so now that leaves my budget at £57.38/£160 spent.
Wed is easy tea night so I'm looking forward to that, kids get to eat what they want so no arguements yey!Debt - CCV £3792
CCB £1383 (took a hit for a holiday)
Loan 1 £1787
Loan 2 £1683
Total £8601 Was £393020 -
Second spend today; realised bf needs cereal bars for work as we only have one days worth left! Picked up some Go Ahead yogurt breaks on 2 for £2, will pick up some other bars at the weekend (he has 2 per day, a Go Ahead yogurt one and another one).
Also picked up some lunchbox malt loaves and aerosol cream (hot choc season!)
All in all £5 to add to sig which I will do now; was thinking about it whilst in town and realistically I probably only need about £30 worth of bits between now and us coming back from our weekend away on the 15th December as, like I said, I want to run our cupboards and fridge freezer down ready for a fresh start in the new year.
I been practicing 'cooking for the freezer' every few weeks (mostly just soup/lasagne/sausage casserole) and think I have refined it now so going to start drafting a list of what I want to keep in there in terms of those things as they will be handy in the early weeks of my mat leave. That way come April once I'm in the swing of being a mum and the new budget I'll be back on top************************************

Can I set my budget at 400please.
I went to the charity shops before for a mooch and bought a gorgeous stripy cardie for my daughter that was £4 instead of £30 in the christmas markets last night! I couldnt believe it was the same one, so pleased..
I then went to local shop and got 4 muller yogs for 5p each!
Off to see the Cola van with my grandson later.. Holidays are coming !0/4500
