Just back from shopping and have spent £3 in market on veg, £4 in Icel*nd on duck skewers, loo roll & pink 'n' whites and £17.49 in Mr T's so a total of £24.49. Have now spent £171.18/£250. Looking like I'll easily come in under budget as only 1 more shop left before payday on 24th, when December challenge starts for me. Will add anything left from this month onto next month as want to try to keep budget at £250 again.
Signature updated.

I'm glad to report that I still have £78.82 left from my budget for the next 12 days- I think it will be OK especially with a full freezer / pantry (I'm ready for a zombie attack! LOL) my only problem is a picky OH who is sometimes iffy about eating YS gods and refuses to eat out of date food (well, he does eat it, he just doesn't know it). My DD is well trained- she eats anything just like me.
My latest YS finds included 1.7KG beef sheen for £4.81 or £2.70 per kilo and 10KGs (22lbs) of Kerry Pink potatoes (LOVELY SPUDS) for .... 80p!!!!!! TBH I don't know how I would manage a low budget without my YS bargains."NOTHING TASTES AS GOOD AS FREE FOOD"

Is it cheating to not count the vouchers I used on my shopping?
I normally forget to use them in time or don't spend the required amount but essentially feel that I have an extra £1.80 to put into savings if I come in lower than my £175 target. So having accounted for the voucher spent £3.75 in the Co-op. I got some spread, 24 Ridged McCoys crisps and a packet of Pain Au Chocolat for my son as they are on offer at the moment.
The McCoys crisps are £2.09 for six but buy 2 packets for £2.00 at the moment.0 -

It took me 6-6 1/2hrs on low setting last time to make ricepudding with 4pints of milk- I always use shortgrained rice for rice pudding, however i can't see why long grain wouldn't be OK, however never tried it. Don't give up on SC rice pudding yet, just like with everything else its try and see what working for you- it's a great way to use up out of date milk.
I was using 3pts and think it was on for around 9hrs  not going to give up as I love rice pudding. Trial and error. Next time I will do it on a weekend so I can keep an eye on it.That voice in your head that says you can’t do this is a LIAR!

First _Trouble - I would really try and use pudding rice if you have it. I love rice pudding too, but find you have to use pudding rice really.

I will be upping budget for December partly for Christmas, but also to accomodate donation to food bank. I usually volunteer, but as no plans confirmed yet for Christmas, don't want to offer and then have to pull out so going to donate a day's worth of wages in food bank form.

As another shortie, that's why I prefer drawer freezers to chest freezers. It provides much better access.M3 Dec2015 #160 Target £150,000 (BU £155000)0 -

Trip into town today. Spent £6.38 in market on ham & meat. £4 in P*land. £1.65 in B**TS and £12.03 in Mr T. Just off to update signature. Cupboards & freezer still quite full. Shouldn't need to buy much more before the weekend.0
