Ive been stockpiling since lockdown1 and, despite trying to live off the stockpile I just seem to add to it
I really must get a grip of this

It is easy to fall into old habits. I would say that your signature under your post have some truth to it  It helps me whenever i see it!
My sister told me about an app where shops sell their outdated food for a discount, signed up.and tried it once. Got a nice selection of meals, fruit, yoghurt and desserts at. Will.probably only use it when it is near payday or too tired to cook.
In: ready meals x2, pizza x1. Also, chicken wings, pork belly (supposed to be for bbq, have to wait for better weather). Ice cream.
Out: block pastry, used half for tart with y.s.veg. today, ingredients for birthday cake (got a belated getogether tomorrow).
Great start @Happy_Sloth. @joedenise we going camping in a weeks' time and the farm specialises in rare breed pigs and got a butchery. I am really looking forward to trying something different!

Finanally finished the instant pots of porridge in my cupboard yesterday and i have now started on trying to drink the protein breakfast shakes.  They where left over from when i used to commute to an office, i used to keep them i my desk so they where a handy breakfast in the morning, i don't need them now as more frugal options are available and i have the facilities for making regular porridge these days.  But they needed to be gone so i've made it my breakfast mission this last week.

Yesterday i also had some Instant curry noodles,  They are somewhat a stable in the house but only my youngest son eats the curry ones and he's at Uni now, so i need to clear them out.

For tea I had the last battered fish we inherited when my father in law died at christmas, We inherited alot of food, his daughters wouldn't take any of it because it would upset them, but neither me or my husband was emotionally attached to food and it was all too good to simply throw away.

This is my main problem, not only do I have that app but I live temptingly near two major fareshare and zero waste shops … when catering blocks of cheese are going for 50p and crates of fruit for the asking its impossible to not stock up.
In : new toothbrush and a loaf
    Out : smoked salmon, haddock

It's Sunday again, we have been making an effort for Sunday Dinner (proper dinner service, glasses, cutlery etc) however this week i can't be bothered to make an effort. it has to be something simple and quick,

out:  puff pastry, smoked salmon. I'm going to do a puff pastry case with salmon, asparagus, mushrooms etc - should be quick, pudding will be defrosted fruit and cream. That will have to do  :)

Update:- the filled pastry case went down surprisingly well. A good result for little effort

Nothing in or out, except a few frozen parsnips, bought a small chicken Friday, air fried the two legs that night with chips, roasted the remaining crown yesterday, ate half for my Sunday dinner, will pick the other half from the bone, make a stock and cook veggies, carrots, parsnips etc for tonight.

Nothing in over the weekend for me....
    Out
    • Saturday : Freezer Sausage Casserole
    • Sunday : Hotdog sausages from the fridge, they where the vacuum packed kind and they where slightly out of date. so i turned them into a pasta bake, which we had for tea last Night.
    • Bonus : Son came to visit from uni so i sent him home again with a bag full of Quorn. It was all bought for him anyway but it's just been sitting in my freezer since he left for uni in september, so good to clear it out.
On other news, Son informed me that he's not intending to come home from Uni in the summer :(  he's secured himself a flat for next year to go to after he's done in the halls and he intends to move straight into that when he leaves halls.  Honestly i feel alittle gutted, i assumed he'd come home for the summer hols, he said he'd visit for a week or so but it's not quite the same.

In addition my eldest is currently looking for his first post uni jobs and a number of the ones he's applied for are away from home and will need him to move away.    So suddenly it looks like i may have an empty nest by september :( ,,, i dont know why but i didn't really expect it to happen this quickly.

I have 3 weeks till payday, i am really trying not to do any sort of 'big shop'  i don't mind grabbing the essentials bread/milk etc and buying the odd thing for a recipe to make a recipe using up some of the stuff i have,  but want to focus on eating what i have before buying new things.

I have plenty of most common things... Rice, pasta, tinned toms, flour, frozen veg, chicken, minced beef i even have duck, lamb and a pork joint.
However the current items on my hit list to get rid of are the following (any suggestions on what to make would be wonderful)
    • tinned Tuna (husband and son not a fan of fish so it would be need to be a lunch for me)
    • Clear Rice Noodles
    • Micro Pack of Lentils+ root veg (bough it no idea what to do with it or what it would go with)
    • Micro Packs (Multiple) Of Quinoa
    • All Purpose seasoning,  massive tub ... it was yellow stickered got it home and realised i have no idea what you use it for)
    • Red Wine Vinegar
    • Vacuum Packed Chestnuts
    • Dried blueberries
    • Open pack of prunes
    • Resins
    • Chopped Nuts
    • Ground Almonds
    • Brazil nuts
    • Broth Mix
    • Pancake/yorkshire Mix (Huge amount it was a yellow stickered catering pack thinking of freezing some.. i might make a batch of Yorkshire puds and freeze as they are easier to use than making from scratch each time)
    • Crumble Mix
    • Swead
    • Potatos (too many)
    • loads of fresh tomatos
    • Ricota Cheese
    • Oranges
    • Lemons
