Out: rest of the runnerbeans. Unfortunately it was the bag with the too mature tough, stringy beans. Done before i knew better on when to harvest them. Pack prawns and soba noodles for lunch.

Freezers now well organised. I always tend to stock up on an annual cycle. It is quite a big outlay all in one go but I'm sure I save overall as I use every bit and it's nice to have a choice.
Over the last couple of months I've added enough fish to last almost all year if I'm careful, one whole venison carcass, half a pig, some gammon plus extra bacon and sausages. DH has provided 18 pheasants and I've still got 2 whole turkeys and some carcasses/pieces from last year (I grow my own turkeys) There is one mutton carcass, half a lamb and 21 organic chickens arriving next week. Some of the meat I buy, some is done on an exchange basis with like minded friends (turkeys exchanged for pork from the farrier, turkeys exchanged for lamb from a friend).
I now have to concentrate on the vegetable/fruit growing side of things. The hens are due to go back into their proper house on Monday now 'hen lockdown' has finished so the polytunnels can be pressed into activity, early potatoes will be the first thing to get planted. I've still got some frozen veg left from last year, mainly beans, leeks and sweetcorn.
I can see some space in one of the freezers and that's where the veg/fruit will start to go once they have cropped and I've defrosted it.
