I've completed my food inventory for the year.

Here is the list of foods from last year which I will endeavour to use up first due to being past their best before dates, etc

    Coffee
    Yayla soup
    Oats
    Flax seeds
    Butter - gone
    Cheese - gone
    Potatoes - gone
    Onions - gone
    2 small cheeses - gone
    Raisins

The following items should last longer as they are sugars

    Palm sugar
    Coconut sugar
    Molasses
    Soft brown sugar
    Icing sugar
    Caster sugar

    Miscellaneous items are

    Ginger powder
    Mixed herbs
    Mint
    Paprika
    Baking powder
    3 types of salt
    Vinegar

    Plus some undated items

    Savoury biscuits - gone
    Bicarbonate of soda
    Christmas biscuits - gone
    Rice

I forgot to update my inventory last week

8 items used up from 2020 in January

    New from January's list

    Lavender biscuits
    Butter
    Cheese
    Carrots - gone
    Cauliflower - gone
    Yoghourt- gone
3 items used up already from January

Each day I'm trying to choose an item from my 2020 list and my January list.

However, due to pandemic no coffee drinkers have visited for nearly a year now.

I'm going to make some flapjacks and eat more muesli (flax seeds, oats, molasses, raisins). Once I worked out the Turkish instructions I'll make the Turkish soup.

I'll use some of my coconut sugar with my yoghourt which I have daily. Currently using the soft brown sugar. Also might try in cakes too.
The palm sugar I bought for Thai green curries, but I don't have other ingredients for those at the moment.

Has anyone got any ideas what I can use coconut flour to make?  I bought it for a specific recipe (can't remember what!) but didn't actually make it so it's been sitting in the cupboard for a long time so would really like to use it up!

I made coconut tarts with mine, using that instead is dessicated coconut. I think I should have used extra egg though as the flour is more absorbent than the dessicated.

out: Last of the mutton, a leg. defrosted and put in a roasting bag and then in the slow cooker at lunchtime. Out half an hour before tea, taken out of its bag and into the oven alongside the roasties. The outside was lovely and crisp and the meat just fell off the bone, delicious.
Now for the disaster:- out a tub of HM sponge mix, the cake was coffee and walnut, defrosted, and into a well prepared tin, then into my other small oven. I'd forgotten I'd been using the grill yesterday and forgot to move the settings back to 'oven'
