Out: HG raspberries from last year, They're a bit smashed, when I froze them they were perfect but moving them around has broken them up.
Out; Ox kidney, I was going to make steak and kidney pie (pudding would have been better but I've no suet left) but I have no beef stewing left so I've used some venison instead, I don't think Mr Z will notice.
There will be some interesting food combinations as I need to start to using lateral thought. I saved so much money last month by not grocery shopping that I am inspired to try and use as much as I can from freezers and cupboards before shopping again. I've very little butter left, I can probably work my way around that for another couple of weeks, and milk is low, so I've joined MrZ in having tea and coffee black. I'll have a look on the veg plot tomorrow and in the polytunnels to see if I can find any more potatoes - that will help. I think I have enough fruit and veg frozen to last, I've also got plenty of parsnips and leeks on the veg plot. We get vaccinated tomorrow so another three weeks of not shopping is my aim. It will be quite a challenge!!!2 -

Success, I went on the veg plot this morning and managed to find half a bucket of 'overlooked' potatoes, one or two had started to sprout and are a little soft. I'll use those first or even make mash and freeze. Dug up the remainder of the parsnips as they are just starting to come back into life - small green shoots on the tops. Some of the parsnips were huge and took some digging out. Reminded me of the children's story about the 'Enormous Turnip'
Not sure what will be in and out today but I'm just going to get some frozen squash to add to a parsnip for soup for lunch2 -
IN: 0 Even though I have been shopping.
OUT: O, My daughter sent me a delivery of pie and mash, think it was a memory of us together eating pie and mash in Eastbourne, didn`t enjoy it then, and this was disgusting, mash was horrid texture, wallpaper paste springs to mine, tik it was instant mash, I like parsley sauce, NOT parsley liquor, and the pie was not the tastiest.
will just have to be honest as not a cheap item.Do I need it or just want it.2 -
