Out - chicken for dinner tomorrow; may need to get sausages out later depending on whether I can get some nice fresh smoked haddock for breakfast tomorrow (kedgeree)

Managed to get some nice smoked haddock so no need to get the sausages out of the freezer for tomorrow's breakfast!

Hello, I just wanted to say what a great thread this. I have really enjoyed reading these posts. I am so guilty of throwing items in the freezer and then just buying fresh items again, just to stuff back n the freezer! So i am determined to change, here is my food buying activity last week and plans for next week...
In the freezer (purchases from this last week)
3 packs of (YS) chicken thighs
4 bagged up pork and beef mince (the packs were too big for our requirements, so two packs now equals four bags)
    2 packs of (YS) prawns.
Lots of (YS) pork pies, will save for Xmas buffets.
Now for the most interesting bit (I think), what am I taking out and using for this weeks dinner meals
Out the freezer (over the course of the week) Leave the new items in there!! - Smoked sausage, bacon bits, smoked salmon, burgers, pizza, Fishcakes, Sausages
Smoked sausage and bacon bits, thinking of a smoked sausage and orzo pasta dish, got some fancy cheese I can throw over this and bake...
Got a couple of burgers and a small pizza lurking, so pizza for my daughter with wedges and Burgers in buns for hubby and I with salad.
    Smoked salmon risotto
Fishcakes, with chips and either peas or salad.
Sausage casserole (so many sausages in the freezer!) May also lean towards a cooked breakfast on Saturday with (also out the freezer, hash browns....) or at least sausage butties
This will make a big difference on my freezer space and hopefully be the first step in changing our eating / shopping habits....

Welcome @Agentmomo and good luck! I am home alone for a few days, so instead of living off coffee and marmite toast, got some healthy ready meals.
In: beef&black bean curry, macaroni and cheese (did i say healthy? Nevermind), thai green chicken curry.
Out: portion fries for dinner for one last night  :'(

Actually clearing space in the freezer, mind you I've said that before....
    Over the last week:
In: ice-cream, pitta bread, pollack fillets, bread, 3 tea loaves from Bothams
Out: 1/2 pack raw prawns, pork & cabbage bake for lunch, last of the cooked sausages, crumpets, rump steak.
There's a pack of 12 sausages in the fridge, along with a gammon roasting joint - cooking all the sausages tomorrow, half destined for dinner and the rest will be frozen. A friend gave me her recipe for cooking the ham, so I'll try that at the weekend, have some with potatoes and veg and freeze the rest, sliced. Got given an extremely garlicky jar of garlic mayonnaise, which will do nicely and save me having to faff making a sauce.
